Kmart's hula hoop delivery blunder leaves shoppers in stitches!

We all love a good deal and the convenience of shopping from the comfort of our own homes. But, as the saying goes, 'expect the unexpected' – especially when it comes to online deliveries.

Recently, some lucky (or should we say unlucky?) Kmart Australia customers experienced a delivery blunder that's sure to tickle your funny bone. One shopper, in particular, took to the Kmart Hacks & Decor Facebook page to share their hilarious experience.

In the post, the shopper shared a photo of their online haul, which showed a bunch of items crammed into one delivery box. But that's not all. The cherry on top of this delivery fiasco was the hula hoop that was bent in half to fit into the package.

We can only imagine the look on the kids' faces when they saw the contorted hula hoop. Talk about a weeknight laugh! We hope this comical blunder didn't put a damper on their day.

Other members of the group quickly chimed in with their own online shopping horror stories, including one unlucky customer who ordered a round garden bin but received a warped bin in a rectangular box. It seems like Lady Luck wasn't on their side that day.

But back to the hula hoop – some members of the group even speculated about the possible culprit behind the delivery mishap, joking that the hula hoop was a victim of a former IKEA employee who thought it was a flat-pack item!

The burning question on everyone's mind, of course, was whether the bent hula hoop could still do its job. One curious Facebook follower asked the Kmart shopper if it was still functional.

Unfortunately, the answer was a resounding no. The poor hula hoop was so mangled that not even the most creative DIY fix could revive it. But hey, at least the whole ordeal provided some entertainment – and some valuable lessons about the unpredictable world of online shopping.

Key Takeaways

  • A shopper recently shared their hilarious online shopping experience on the Kmart Hacks & Decor Facebook page.
  • The shopper received a delivery box with a bunch of items crammed inside and a hula hoop bent in half to fit.
  • Other members of the group chimed in with their own online shopping horror stories and humorous speculations about the culprit behind the delivery mishap.

It seems like this isn't the first time the retail giant has 'misjudged' the size of the box needed for an item.

Just last month, we reported on another delivery debacle where a shopper received a massive box for their order – only to find it filled with plastic bags and the single padlock they had ordered.

We all know that online shopping is convenient, but it's frustrating to see retailers disregarding eco-friendliness and opting for excessive packaging. Come on, Kmart – we all learned about 'reduce, reuse, recycle' in primary school. It's not rocket science!

Plus, it's not like we're ordering a grand piano or a life-size statue here. There's no need to waste so much material and contribute to the plastic pollution problem.

Oh, the joys of online shopping – it can save us time and money, but it can also deliver some unexpected surprises, just like these Kmart shoppers found out.

Sure, you might be able to get a great deal and avoid the crowds by shopping online, but if you're not careful, you might end up with a hula hoop that's seen better days or a box filled with more air than actual products.

But hey, let's not be too quick to judge. We've all had our fair share of delivery mishaps and surprises, whether it's a dress that's way too small or a coffee mug that's broken before it even reaches your kitchen.

If you're feeling a bit wary after this Kmart delivery fail, don't worry – there's always the option to shop in person and avoid the risks of online shopping. Sure, you might have to deal with parking woes and long lines, but at least you'll be able to see the product with your own eyes and avoid any nasty surprises.

In the end, online shopping can be a bit of a gamble, but hey, sometimes you win big, and sometimes you end up with a bent hula hoop. Just remember to take it all in stride and have a good laugh – after all, life is too short to get worked up over a delivery mishap. Though you should certainly let their customer service team know so you can receive a refund.

How funny and here I am receiving a colouring book in a huge box.

I received my order from different stores and one store had to send me a colouring book and it arrived in a very large box.

My 18 year old just purchased a hoopla hoop for exercise and they are so flimsy.

I told her that the old hoopla hoops were so strong you couldn't bend them.

I still remember my pink hoopla hoop

In an age when we are trying to recycle and reduce packaging how absurd that a tiny object (padlock) should be sent in a large box with heaps of packaging. Is it Kmart not training the despatch staff or is it another service who packs and sends the orders? Either way it needs to be looked at urgently. Come on Kmart - you can do better.

Yeah not funny, must be the same person from 40years ago that wrapped my hula hoop then continued to put tape round the flaming thing (Christmas lay-by) said that way my kids wouldn’t see it as it was wrapped up 🤷🏼‍♀️😵‍💫
