Fortunately for us, some professionals take the time to test out some car products and rate them for their useability, saving the general public the hassle of purchasing and trying them out themselves.

So, without further ado, we would like to share with you how professional car detailer and TikTok user @TheBuffDetailers rated Kmart's $4.50 Supreme Drying Towel.

The budget-friendly buy is a 'far less expensive' version of many popular car drying towels, which may cost up to $40 at retail.

And while the item is only a quarter of the cost of more popular brands, the quality of the item is not compromised, with the car enthusiast giving it an eight out of ten rating.

When inspecting the towels, you don't need to be a professional to get it right. Here are a few things to look for when shopping for car drying towels:

1. Absorbency

Absorbency is the most important thing to look for in a car drying towel. A good car drying towel should be able to soak up a lot of water quickly so that your car dries faster.

2. Lint-free

Another important factor to consider is lint-free-ness. You don't want your car drying towel to leave behind any lint or fibres, so make sure to choose one that is guaranteed to be lint-free.

3. Size

Car drying towels come in a variety of sizes, so you'll want to choose one that is appropriate for the size of your car. If you have a smaller car, you can get away with a smaller towel, but if you have a larger car, you'll need a bigger towel.

4. Material

Car drying towels are usually made from microfibre, cotton, or chamois. Microfibre is the most popular choice because it is extremely absorbent and lint-free. Cotton is also absorbent, but it is not as lint-free as microfibre. Chamois is the least absorbent of the three materials, but it is very soft and will not scratch your car's paint.

5. Price

Car drying towels range in price from a few dollars to over $40. The most important thing is to find a towel that fits your needs in terms of absorbency, ‘lint-free-ness’, and size. Don't worry about spending a lot of money on a car drying towel - the cheaper ones will work just as well.

Now that you know what to look for in a car drying towel, you can be sure to choose a quality product that will help you dry your car quickly and easily. You’ll be the envy of the neighbourhood!

A good CHAMOIS (sham ee) does the best job on external car surfaces.
20 years ago, I was given a GYM BODY CHAMOIS! It was so good, simple, easy to use, wring out, wash, dry, store and carry, that towels no longer take up lots of room on shelves. Instead, I buy Body Chamois in different colours, and they last quite a while - about $10 on line.
