Kmart shopper shared "disgusting" aftermath of post-lockdown shopping frenzy in this viral TikTok clip

A Kmart shopper took to TikTok to share a disturbing clip taken inside a Sydney store following a shopping frenzy which took place after the NSW government lifted the state-wide 106-day lockdown.

In a now viral TikTok clip, user @heidilyons1 revealed how frenzied shoppers ravaged a Kmart store in Sydney, days after the retail chain opened its stores to vaccinated shoppers on October 11.

The shoppers left an unbelievable mess — piles of unfolded clothes thrown all over displays in the women’s fashion section, various tops, pants and skirts haphazardly hungover the top of clothing racks, ripped tags scattered all over the ground, and other pieces of clothing kicked under clothing racks made mounds of rubbish.

The Kmart shopper, who captioned the clip with a series of hashtags which includes #whatamess #covidlockdown #norespect and #lostyourmind, asked: “Sydney, what is wrong with you?”

The TikTok clip found its way on Facebook where users expressed their disgust with the situation.

One Facebook user said: “What a disgusting mess, whoever left the store like that should be ashamed of themselves,”

“Got to feel sorry for the poor staff who are stuck cleaning it up. Not on.”

Another said: “Like a bomb’s gone off.”

Shocking that people do that. As an aside; there is a push on for people to buy and support Australian made products. That will never happen when so much is purchased at the likes of Kmart,BigW etc. the cheap stuff is what people buy; no getting away from that, so good luck to any Aussie manufacturers trying to manufacture and sell here....the price of energy and wages are far too high.

What did you expect they were treated like
dirt
no work no social contact no life no freedom get a life shame on you these are fellow Aussies who have had the worst time ever because of our corrupt government its does not look like a bomb has gone off to me it looks like what keeping people locked up for no reason does to their mind and actions and K Mart staff get paid good money to tidy that up at least they have jobs I think these photos are petty seeing the life they have been well living

Why cant news post happiness hence why I never watch it always see the worst in everyday lives it sells unfortunately

A similar observation in our local KMart. Two women had 3 trolleys each, with all piled high with women’s winter clothing reduced to $2 an item. Some clothing were multiples of the same item. Another customer asked whether they intended wearing all items as they hadn’t left much for other shoppers. One of the women answered “yes, & there‘s plenty left for others”. The irate customer obviously didn’t believe her (nor did I), & kept harassing her, stating she obviously couldn’t wear five identical pairs of pants of the same size & colour, & other similar comments. In the meantime a staff member had stepped in & eventually called a manager, who arrived but chose not to do anything. The irate customer kept following the two women with the laden trolleys, making similar comments for another 10 minutes. Very concerning for all concerned.
