Kleenex Coloured Toilet Tissue

Ah, the days when even toilet paper was a fashion statement! Matching your bath towels and wallpaper? Kleenex really went all out with these pastel shades. From mint green to baby pink, coloured toilet paper was all the rage for a while—until practicality and concerns about dyes took over.

Did your household embrace the colourful loo trend, or was it strictly plain white for you?

I can remember we had apricot coloured tissues and toilet paper - the advertising hype at the time was you could match your towels and bathroom accessories! They were pretty but unnecessary - and later the question of dyes not being good for the environment saw them disappear from the shelves.

No and thankfully so, given the recent medical evidence that coloured toilet paper is dangerous.

Surprised at the number of people who don't remember these. It was definitely fashionable throughout the 1960s to 1980s, at least in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane 🤔🤠
