King Frederik wows Queen Mary with a surprise gift on his 56th birthday!

Royal celebrations are also an excellent venue for crowned Kings and Queens to display impressive gestures towards each other.

For one royal's birthday, a king decided to show his queen a grand gesture of love by giving her a once-in-a-lifetime gift.

King Frederik of Denmark bestowed the Grand Commander's Cross of the Order of the Dane upon Queen Mary—a rare and prestigious honour—during the state celebrations of his 56th birthday.

This remarkable gift followed after the royal couple faced months of scrutiny regarding their marriage and denials of any affair.

The Grand Commander's Cross is not a purchasable gift; it is a symbol of dedication and service to the Danish state, typically reserved for the most prominent members of the royal family.

The conferral of this honour to Australia-born Queen Mary is a testament to her significant role within the royal family and her contributions to the kingdom.
Received by then-Prince Frederik and his brother, Prince Joachim, in 2004, only seven living members, including the esteemed Queen Margrethe, held the title.

The bestowal of the cross upon Queen Mary clearly signals her importance and standing within the royal hierarchy.

During the birthday celebrations—covered by Channel Seven's UK correspondent Ashlee Mullany and discussed on Sunrise—King Frederik's decision to honour his wife on his birthday was a 'stroke of genius'.

'It is King Frederik's birthday, but he has given Queen Mary the gift here, presumably earning himself months of brownie points,' Mullany shared.

The gift is a strategic and heartfelt choice, as what else could one possibly give to a queen who seemingly has everything?
The royal couple presented a united front to the public, with Queen Mary radiating joy as she waved to the gathered crowds from the balcony of the Amalienborg castle.

Clad in a striking puffy-sleeved pink dress, she held hands with King Frederik, symbolising their solidarity.

Their children, Prince Christian, Princess Isabella, Prince Vincent, and Princess Josephine, joined them in greeting the adoring public, further reinforcing the image of a strong and united family.

This display of unity and affection came after a challenging period marked by rumours of infidelity sparked by allegations of an affair between King Frederik and Mexican socialite Genoveva Casanova.

Despite Casanova's denials, the royal couple has been under intense scrutiny, with every public appearance and photograph being analysed for signs of strain.

However, the recent celebrations and the significant honour bestowed upon Queen Mary suggest that the royal couple is weathering the storm and using the occasion to reaffirm their commitment to each other and the Danish monarchy.

Honestly, why do we scrutinise everything for a chance to bring people down for a headline, isn’t it time we did something good in this world instead of salivating over other people’s problems.. help out someone in need and stop looking at other people’s problems to gloat over.. sad old world now when we take pleasure in others pain 😢

how do we know the truth, as I will not believe what is printed? why do the press poke into this when they are not in their lives? If true, is he the first to wander? This kind of drivel makes me angry.

Really why ask us what we believe about royalty and their relationships
What do we know and really why would anyone care what we believe.
I don’t agree that they’re parasites and they do have a role in society- a buffer between raw politics and the general population.
I have even less interest in the ins and outs of politicians lives - it’s just modern day voyeurism, bunch of peeping toms.

Regardless of our opinion, does it hurt to have a little bit of empathy and not add to the scandalous speculation of nasty unproven facts. Even if proven who does it affect not us ? Live and let live and get on dealing with our own problems we certainly have enough to deal with in our own families and friends. Life is tough, let us
centre in on making our own loved ones
our main concern to help and encorig
