Kindness
Ross & Russ at 3AW were talking about Tolstoy and his words of wisdom.
Leo Tolstoy emphasized that kindness is essential for a meaningful life and a harmonious world.
He wrote, “The kinder and more intelligent a person is, the more kindness he can find in other people. Kindness enriches our life; with kindness mysterious things become clear, difficult things become easy, and dull things become cheerful”.
Tolstoy also believed that “nothing can make our life, or the lives of other people, more beautiful than perpetual kindness”.
He saw kindness as foundational to true love and moral living, stating that love is real only when a person can sacrifice themselves for another and live for someone else’s sake—such love is the foundation of the world.
He further advised responding to evil with kindness, which he believed could diminish the pleasure others take in wrongdoing.
