Another 1960s hazard, luckily I never got hit by the end of the plank, but I got my fingers jammed by the metal rod that went under the plank.

Those were the days when the fun of outdoor activities meant taking your life in your hands on any of the contraptions available. Nobody thought they were dangerous.

That was just like a ramrod. Knocked out quite a few teeth.

My kids had never seen one of these and asked if they could have a go on it. I said no, it's dangerous. We were travelling from the country and stopped at a park on another occasion and my daughter asked if she could go on the dangerous. True story.

we used to dare someone to sit on there as we pushed it to the limit (the bar hitting the seat or you)
