The beloved fast food giant, KFC, has released a new game-changing dessert that chocolate lovers who are after a cheap treat are very excited to get their hands on.
The new item is a Double Chocolate Mousse dessert and it is available for just $2.95! A price that rivals other fast food chains, like the Maccas Sundae which retails at $3.70 for a small, or $4.15 for a large or a Hungry Jacks Sundae for $4.95 (prices may vary store to store). Although, we must admit that the famous Maccas 'Soft Serve' still comes out on top when it comes to price, at only $0.80.
But what about the days you don't want ice cream? Then a Double Chocolate Mousse dessert might be exactly what you're after.
Now, if you're thinking, hang on, hasn't the chocolate mousse been on the KFC menu in the past? You’d be right. But the crucial detail is the recipe has been altered to have an even more chocolatey taste (yum) and it has a great new look too.
The release of the new item comes as a bit of a surprise to KFC fans as KFC isn't as well known for its desserts unlike other fast food chains. However, it has been put to the test and people are not disappointed! With one person saying, 'KFC chocolate mousse = underrated.'
A KFC spokesperson spoke to the media, stating ‘We’re always looking for fresh ways to delight our fans with new and downright delicious menu items.’
‘Our new and improved Double Chocolate Mousse is choc(cy)-a-block full of rich chocolate flavour, delivering velvety-smooth, melt-in-your-mouth goodness that makes for a perfectly indulgent end to your KFC feed.’
With the release of the Double Chocolate Mousse, it seems that KFC is trying to cash in on the current trend of all things chocolate. And we have to say, we're not mad about it. So, if you're after a cheap chocolate fix, make sure you head to your nearest KFC and try out the new Double Chocolate Mousse! But of course, members, keep in mind that this is a dessert and therefore a ‘treat’ so be sure to treat yourself as part of a balanced diet.
