Karl Stefanovic was left in stitches after this suggestive joke

For anyone who’s seen Karl Stefanovic on the Today Show, you’d know that he’s often … let’s say, a little mischievous. Yesterday was no exception.

Karl, along with co-host Sarah Abo, was interviewing a butcher who runs a 24-hour store with no staff when he heard the seemingly X-rated joke.

Before the interview could even start, the hosts were already laughing to themselves while on air. Karl finally diverted the conversation to introduce their next guest, Jacob Wolki, who is the owner of the 24-hour butcher shop in Albury, New South Wales.

The shop, which originally gained traction on social media prior to the interview, is reportedly Australia’s first 24/7 self-service butcher. You can find more details on this story here.

‘How did you come up with an idea like this?’ Sarah asks.

‘It all started waking up at 2 am one morning and I said “Geez, I wish I could run into a shop and grab a porterhouse”,’ Mr Wolki shared. This blunt statement led Sarah to continue giggling and Karl to stifle his laughs.

‘How have you managed to get it up and running though?’ Karl followed up.

‘We’ve got a farm down the road where we grow beef, pork, and chicken, and sell it directly to the market. We needed to take production into our own hands so I purchased this butchery to get the butchers out the back chopping up the meat,’ Mr Wolki explained.

He added that he wanted to facilitate customers in the front of the store, however, the volume was too small and he couldn’t afford the overheads of wages. So, he instead converted the front of the store into a ‘walk-in vending machine’.

Sarah then asks the butcher if he’s ever worried about theft. ‘Has that been an issue since you’ve opened?’

Mr Wolki shared that they’ve had ‘absolutely zero theft’ in his store in almost two years of trading. He further explained that each customer signs up to become a member and gets a unique code to enter the store.

‘You can let yourself in 24/7 and there are cameras under surveillance. And in two years, we’ve had zero shrinkage,’ Mr Wolki claimed, leaving Karl in a fit of giggles, and prompting him to hide his face away from the camera.

‘Zero shrinkage, that’s handy,’ Sarah said, seeming to get why Karl was laughing in the first place.

Karl can be heard laughing off-camera, while Mr Wolki looked like he had no idea what was going on. ‘I’m getting there as soon as I can!’ Karl claimed as the interview ended, and it was Sarah’s turn to struggle not to laugh.

The full interview, which was posted on the network’s official YouTube channel, can be found below:

This comes after Karl recently found himself embroiled in a lovers’ spat between former cricketer Michael Clarke and his girlfriend Jade Yarbrough. The argument was recorded on video which you can find here.

According to an alleged source, the TV host is said to have been holding ‘crisis meetings’ after the incident, and shared that he is ‘rocked to the core’ that more footage will be released.

Karl supposedly told his family that he ‘cannot afford to have another crisis like this one’, and wanted ‘no more dramas’. You may remember that Karl left the Today Show in 2018 to focus on his family. Details of a private conversation between Karl and his brother Peter made headlines at the time, and it is believed this may have led to his departure from the show.

How typical of Karl, and now his new partner. This guy has revolutionised the retailing of meat and these two mind in the gutter promoters of bad television think they are funny by humiliating him with their low humour. How sad that channel 9 continue to promote this low level of normal.
