Junket tablets

Who remembers Junket tablets? A dessert from yesteryear that needed just the right touch, especially the milk temperature! Some recall pairing it with fresh fruit for a simple, satisfying treat.

I remember junket tablets from years ago. Junket was an easy dessert to make, though never a favourite of mine so I hadn't realized the tablets were no longer available. I certainly haven't missed them.

Well; I remember Junket nd loved it ...It is a pity that they toook it off the shelves because in the 70s and 80s I used Junket tablets to avoid sea sickness.
For some people one full tablet was a bit strong but half a tablet would suffice. They were pretty much tasteless but ery affective.
Mum would make the best junket and with canned peaches it was a great dessert, particularly with thickened cream added.

Yes, I definitely had junket. I still purchase it at Coles as it is wonderful for stopping diarrhoea. When this happens to my husband or myself we eat one tablet (tastes terrible) and the diarrhoea goes. Very rarely do we need 2 tablets. 😃

oh the wonderful memories. My family loved Junket and Mum could count on it to stay down if we were sick. I really wish they'd bring it back. I also used it when making soft cheese when I had cows.

We were served junket as kids, until the one day mum used a spoon previously used for eucalyptus oil to stir it. I remember being forced to sit at the table until I was finished, and was then sick. Never ate it again!

What a palaver to make and not that nice anyway but what is nice are a couple of jellies made with half the amount of water required. Cooled and then add a full tin of Carnation milk and whisk till frothy and let to set in fridge. My children loved it
