John Farnham's sons, Robert and James, and Gaynor Wheatley, the wife of Farnham's late manager, Glenn Wheatley, recently went on Sunrise's breakfast show to speak candidly about John’s health struggles and his new documentary, John Farnham: Finding The Voice.
This update comes after the family confirmed that Farnham had made a 'full recovery from a recent chest infection in late March’. However, this health scare followed major surgery in August last year to remove a cancerous tumour from his mouth and subsequent jaw reconstruction.
The 73-year-old singing icon, known for his hit 'You're The Voice', is currently on the road to recovery after facing his cancer battle with strength and optimism.
Robert shared with the Sunrise audience that their father's health is steadily improving: 'It's a fairly long road, as cancer is, but he is doing well, and we get to spend a lot of time with him, and his spirits are up, so that is all we can ask for.'
Both sons are proud of their father and realise that this battle is just another fight that he needs to push through: 'Cancer is a horrible thing, but he’s got great support—the hospitals have been amazing, the staff are amazing, and shout out to those guys.'
