Its Ok to Talk About Mental Illness

Mental Illness has been a taboo subject for years.
The stigma associated with it alone will make people hide behind it.
My talking about it and seeking help is OK.
You may suffer depression or anxiety and feel alone.
It's ok to talk about ,
it's ok to cry,
it's okay to have bad days
It's not ok to feel alone
It's not ok to feel ashamed.
For the past two years I have suffered depression and anxiety.
At times I don't want to leave my room.
At times I cry for no reason.
At times I want to sleep all the time
At times I can't sleep
At times I can't stop thinking something bad isn't going to happen.
I'm not writing this for you to feel sorry for me but for those who are experiencing something similar to know you are not alone.
I'm also writing this for those who know someone with depression or anxiety, to be more sympathetic.
I'm seeing a wonderful psychologist and have the support of my doctor.
I have the support of one of my amazing daughters who have gone through similar.
I was once a very strong women who worked hard , had control off my life and enjoyed life.
After surgery gone wrong my life changed drastically and I had no control.
I'm trying to take back my life but is a very hard path
For those of you on a similar path , know you are not alone.
