Is this the most outrageous bridal trend yet? See what these brides are wearing down the aisle!

As we all know, timeless elegance and classic style can never be outdone. But has a new wedding shoe trend shaken up the traditional bridal landscape?

From fancy bridal heels to classic Converse and comfy white sneakers, brides-to-be have ample choice when it comes to footwear on their special day.

But recently, a new growing trend has left many people scratching their heads as more and more brides are beginning to look to bedazzled Crocs to accompany them down the aisle.

You read that right, folks! For those who do not know, Crocs are a type of lightweight, comfortable, and durable footwear made from a patented foam resin material called Croslite.

They were first introduced in 2002 by a company called Foam Creations, which later became known as Crocs, Inc.

Since their debut, Crocs have become a popular choice for a wide range of consumers, from medical professionals and restaurant workers who appreciate their comfort and slip-resistant design, to outdoor enthusiasts who appreciate their durability and water-resistance.

Despite their widespread popularity, however, Crocs have also been the subject of controversy.

Some people criticise its unconventional design, which features large holes and a clog-like shape, as well as its bright colours and patterns, with many labelling it as ‘classless’ and ‘gross’.

This is the reason why brides and wedding attendees wearing bedazzled Crocs during the ceremony are dividing the internet, with some people questioning whether this simple footwear choice is ‘tacky’ for the big event.

‘That's the problem. People have no class anymore. No one dresses up, it's all about comfort,’ one critic wrote.

Another pointed out: ‘I hate few things in life but crocs are at the top of my list, and when coordinated with an outfit. Lord, help me, I physically shudder.’

On the other hand, many praised the brides for being the ‘cutest’ for thinking outside the box and prioritising their comfort for the ‘hours-long’ ceremony.

One bride even responded to the upset critics, saying that she ‘regrets nothing’ and that the shoes were comfortable the entire night.

'I am not a heel person at all - Converse for the ceremony and crocs for the reception,' one woman said.

Another added: ‘The appearance is not unpleasant and let’s face it, dancing in heels is painful and challenging. One must be comfortable to enjoy such a wonderful and momentous day.’

'Comfortable happy feet means happy bridesmaids,' a third agreed.

Several others, however, believed that the bride and her bridesmaids should have opted for ballet slippers instead of heels or waited until the ceremony was over before changing into crocs if heels were an issue.

One person remarked: ‘That looks gross. Just being honest. They surely could have worn a flat pretty sandal or shoe. I hope the bride didn't wear her crocs. Such a turn off.’

Key Takeaways
  • Brides have started wearing white bedazzled crocs to their weddings, sparking a heated debate over the trend.
  • Many have deemed the fad 'classless' and 'gross', however, others say it's fun and practical.
  • Crocs have long been praised for their comfort, breathability and lightweight material.
  • Despite the mixed reaction, wedding croc businesses are booming and the shoes regularly retail for between $200 and $300 online.

Whether you choose to rock them yourself or not – bedazzled crocs are here to stay. And we have to say, the business is booming!

Prices can range anywhere from $70 to $300 online, and with the option of customisations such as pearls and diamonds, giant flowers, gold and silver chains – it’s not hard to see why many brides-to-be and wedding guests choose to wear these shoes for their wedding.

I worked in bridal for many many years and alot of brides wore Heels for the ceremony and then changed into flats. I also saw alit of brides wear white converse which they added sparkle. Some even wore sparkly Havanans.

I think these were great but I have always hated crocs I just think they are bulky ugly shoes ?

Crocs worn under the bridal gown... I personally think it's such a sensible approach to the big day. Who looks at the shoes anyhow, and more to the point, why should anyone else care? It's her day.
If they are blinged to the nines, they would make for some interesting photo opportunities.
One of the best weddings I went to was a lovely country lass who wore a white akubra, her favourite riding boots, arrived on horseback and went yeee haa all the way back down the aisle. Was a great reception too, and the bride did not look like she had sore feet.
In the end, it is a day that is created to make it memorable for 2 people. Anyone else can go whistle if they want to poo poo it.

Cowgirl boots look amazing under a wedding dress . You can get some amazing photos

I would like to see the day when Brides are HONEST and only wear WHITE when they are VIRGINS !!! which is what WHITE BRIDAL FINERY MEANS !!!!!!!!!!

BRIDES STOP LIYING and wearing white if you are NOT A VIRGIN !!!!!!!
A bit of old fashioned thinking there....I don't agree, a bride can wear whatever she likes, its her big day.
I wore a beautiful white wedding gown for my second marriage!

Who cares, her day, her choice!

Yes, I’m more traditional but whatever the bride wants is her choice. As for virgin brides I doubt any exist anymore which is fair enough as virgin bridegrooms haven’t existed for much longer and double standards are not acceptable for anything anymore.

Never say never for virgin brides / grooms One of my daughters, and I'm saying one of my daughters married her first boyfriend and she was his first girlfriend and they married both still virgin's. You will say oh right your the mother and you know that.. They are both strong Christians with strong values . They married when she was 21 and he was 22 both just finished uni and they just celebrated their 10th wedding anniversary

Working in bridal for many many years, my job was to find the bride their perfect dress.
90 % of the time the bride left with the dress I picked for her . Most girls came in thinking one style would work and walk out with something the opposite.

I want to share a few different brides I dealt with.

First one was a 62 year old who wanted the biggest fullest dress ever , and she got it a huge tulle skirt with a beaded bodice. I could have seen her in a more fitted elegant lace dress .

Second one. SAD ONE , I had a mum come in and asked for me to help her daughter . Told me how her daughter may only get to try one dress on as she had leukaemia, just finished chemo and may only have 6 weeks to live. She came in wearing a scarf , she had no hair, no eye brows or lashes. Her mum said to me that she didn't want her buying a dress as she feels she will then not get to wear it, I made sure this girl had the best experience, she fell in love with a soft pink flower dress. Her mum was surprised that she managed to try on 4 dresses.

Now what completely broke me was when her friend arrived with a 18 month little girl, turns out it was her daughter. I excused myself and went out the back and asked another consultant to take over. I was out the back crying when my college came in crying and called me a bitch for calling her out.
The dress was a sale dress that the bride loved that I decided to pay for the dress but her mum begged me not too. She told me that if she got better she would definitely bring her back. Her mum hugged me for giving her the experience. Sadly she passed away 3 weeks later and today I can still picture her.

Bride no 3 was actually a man ...yes a man name Phil and yes I put him into a wedding dress. It was against the law to refuse , a little something call discrimination and he wasn't the only male who came in.

I can go on and on with many stories but will leave it there but know I had the best job in the world

Everyone is different, a wedding is a private and personal thing.
Why should any one of us care what a bride chooses to wear on HER
Wedding day!
