Is this $100 grazing box from ALDI truly worth it? The debate rages on!

Recently, a woman posted a photograph of a grazing box she had made on a Facebook group dedicated to ALDI finds, which instantly sparked a passionate yet intense debate between members of the group.

Her box featured a wonderful selection of goodies, including various fruits, dips, bread, deli meats, cheeses, and preserves… and surely tickled everyone's taste buds!

As expected, many people complimented the woman on her skilful arrangement of the box. However, some were also concerned that she was charging a premium despite using budget-friendly products from ALDI.

One person commented, 'No way is that worth $100', while another wondered, 'Hopefully, you're not charging a premium for budget food.’

A third critic went further, stating that they would be displeased if they found out the grazing box contained things they could buy from the budget supermarket. Meanwhile, some supporters defended the woman in the group, correctly pointing out that she's charging for not only the ingredients but also the assembling, shopping, delivery, and her expertise.

'The reality is you're paying for the service because you don't want to do it. You aren't paying premium prices just for food. It's the time, shop, design, setup etc,' someone in the group wrote.

The woman herself also said that paying a premium doesn't always mean getting superior quality goods because even though sometimes ALDI items can be a little hit or miss, she would only use the best of the best in her boxes. Plus, being in the know, many were quick to point out that many catering companies and hospitality businesses actually source their goods from ALDI without customers even realising it.

'A lot of you whinging about people buying products from ALDI for grazing boxes/platters, you'll be very surprised that a lot of catering companies as well as hospitality businesses shop at ALDI for their products,' a group member shared.

Growing Popularity of Grazing Boxes

The debate around the value of the woman’s $100 grazing box from ALDI has reignited the conversation over the growing popularity of grazing boxes. What was once reserved for catered events and special occasions is now making its way into homes as a simple solution to entertaining large groups. Grazing boxes have become a popular choice for parties, picnics, school lunches, and even family dinner nights.

The versatility of grazing boxes has made them a standout for special events, including weddings, corporate functions, birthdays, anniversaries, and christenings. Typically these feature a variety of fresh produce, tasty cheeses, charcuterie, crackers, jams, artisan bread, and a selection of nuts and dried fruits.

Clearly, there is rising demand for grazing boxes, especially for those looking for an interesting and irresistible way to present delicious food to their guests.

Key Takeaways
  • A woman has divided social media after sharing a photo of a grazing box she made using products from ALDI.

I hope she also provides a pair of small tongs for her customers to use when they present their grazing boxes at a party or function! I wouldn’t pay $100 for one of these boxes - DIY, it shouldn’t take that long unless you are lazy and have a lot of money to waste.

Some people know "the price of everything and the value of nothing".
What should matter here is whether people enjoy the food offered, not how much the person who assembled it paid for the ingredients. Personally, it wouldn't occur to me to pay someone to do this as I would do it myself.

It takes such little time to slice and dice ready for the platter that I wouldn't ever consider hunting out someone to do it for me. In the time it would take to organise it I could have it done and be sitting down with a coffee! :) :)

I'd buy if it didn't contain meat and had only gluten free, it looks great. Also suggest the meat is kept away from the other items and partitioned
