We have purchased an air fryer last Christmas. To tell the truth I think that they can be overrated because you can cook things quickly in other modes of cooking ie eggs poached/boiled/ or potatoes roasted in the oven take not much longer. However now I’m getting more used to it it’s easy to put a piece of chicken in it and cook it beautifully. It strikes me that the convenience factor is impressive- you don’t have to warm it up before you start. Yes I do like it for its convenience

About 15 years ago, Aldi sold what was called a "turbo cooker" which comprised of a circular cooking vessel with a lid that had an electric element and a fan. Big enough for a large chicken which could be roasted in less than an hour. Simply brilliant, rendering the chicken crispy but juicy!

I recall it cost about $40.

Sourcing spare parts is a huge problem with a lot of products. Sometimes they use substitute parts from another model which in comaprison are inferior quality

DONT BUY IT FOR THE STEAMER FUNCTION!!
First one was happily exchanged (kudos to Aldi for that) because the watertank for steamer leaked thru appliance/element (dangerous I would think), turns out was missing a valve/seal.

Second one purchased is ok as an airfryer (nice large basket) but useless (doesnt even work as a steamer)- as it gets to around the 3 minute mark it just stops/pauses (regardless of how long I set it to cook for) & same thing on combo (steam/airfry) needing either a restart or pressing down on watertank at top to get it going again (only get about 3 more minutes before it stops yet again).
Instructions are very vague & not at all helpful- troubleshooting doesn't include anything regarding the unit shutting down too soon using the steamer function

I have one originally called a flavourwave. Had it for years cost me over $100 . As it has aged decided to buy new one as they are so good cost $40 gave old one to my daughter and it's still going

Hi, so I'm interested to know, does the steamer function work for any longer than 3 mins (mine doesn't, regardless if i set it for 20mins, 10mins, 5 mins, etc it cuts out after only going for 3 mins, it's so very frustrating (can't go out & expect a meal to be cooked when i get home)! Is this normal? I had first one replaced same day I bought it (had major water leak)! Not impressed!
