Exciting news for Home and Away fans – it looks like a much-loved character may be returning soon!
This week, fans of the show were sent into overdrive after eagle-eyed viewers caught a sneaky hint dropped by former star Courtney Miller – something that may point to her return to the soap.
It appears that lifelong Summer Bay resident, Bella Nixon, may not be saying her final farewells to the palms of the Northern Beaches yet.
Courtney Miller, who played Bella on the hit Australian show Home & Away for over three years, seems to have given fans a glimmer of hope that her character may make an on-screen return as fans noticed something interesting in a recent selfie posted by the actress on her Instagram.
At first glance, the photo looked innocent enough. But to her fans, her backdrop had clearly visible Home and Away polaroids set out on the walls.
‘Is that the Home and Away wall?’ One fan asked.
‘Can’t wait to see Bella return to get the love of her life,’ added a second.
Another one wrote: ‘Someone must be back in the bay for her Nik.’
Courtney tried to keep fans from getting too excited and insisted it was a 'flashback' from her days playing Bella.
But, despite this, fans of the soap were quick to share their theories as to how this could possibly pan out.
One of the main points of discussion was the possibility of Bella and Nikau (played by Kawakawa Fox-Reo) getting back together, with the young couple having broken up earlier this year over a video call to protect Bella from an intimidating bikie gang.
In September, Courtney told reporters that she would love to come back as Bella, but only as a guest.
‘I would [come back]. I wouldn't do a long stint, but just to see everyone, especially just having finished a bit of drama school,’ she said. Courtney added that she’d want to work again to see what she’s learned and how much she’s grown as an actor.
Courtney was even spotted out in Palm Beach in September, with rumours circling on Facebook fan sites about her possible return.
‘Aww, wow. Can’t wait to see Bella again even if it’s just for a little bit,’ one of her fans said.
Another shared that they preferred seeing old characters coming in and out of the show. ‘It makes it more life-like,’ they added.
‘OMG, can’t wait for Bella to come back!’ Someone else commented.
