If the high taxes on alcohol is designed to reduce consumption by younger people I think that if that's the case adults over say 75 should have an exemption of duty on alcohol as we are of an age where we can drink sensibly

It’s way too expensive and I don’t believe for one moment it’s to discourage young people from drinking it’s a greedy government tax grab.

I couldn’t give a rats how much they charge for luxuries like alcohol & cigarettes!! Let those who want to indulge in consuming these ultra-unhealthy, non-essentials pay top dollar & high taxes & perhaps as a pay off the govt could lower the taxes on essentials like good, wholesome heathy food (NOT convenience highly processed garbage & take aways ) , medications (for those who are struggling to pay their bills & buy these often life essentials ), electricity & other utilities!! I don’t drink so it doesn’t bother me. Personally I would rather tobacco products and alcohol increased in price rather than the food we put on our plates. Drinking and smoking is a personal choice but everyone has to eat.
