Is ALDI making a huge mistake? Shoppers panic after favourite cleaning range vanishes

We all understand that products can sometimes behave like a cryptic game of Tetris— here one day, disappeared the next.

When it's your favourite cleaning product, it can feel like a catastrophe.

If there is one thing better than a spotless home, it's reaching that spotlessness using a stellar product that doesn't even pinch your pocket.

The hero in this tale has been ALDI's Di-San laundry range, which has received a standing ovation for its cleaning prowess and its cautious implication on our wallets—at just $2.15.

Customers across the country are experiencing an unexpected twist as the Di-San range, including the popular Pro Ultra Degreaser in its distinctive pink bottle, is mysteriously missing from ALDI's lineup.

This product has been hailed as a 'white knight' in the cleaning world. Shoppers have been on a wild goose chase, braving store after store to try and find the product.

One shopper confessed to visiting a dozen stores in New South Wales and three more in Queensland.

'Does anyone know if they still make this? I've been to 12 different stores in New South Wales and three in Queensland, and it's always an empty spot. I've almost run out.’ they posted in a Facebook group for ALDI fans.

Stories started pouring in from every corner of Australia—from Melbourne to Adelaide.

One commented, 'Same here on the mid-coast of NSW. Hasn't been on the shelf for numerous weeks.'

Another added, 'We haven't had any for many months now. I thought they stopped selling it.'

Has this beloved product been discontinued? One avid user stated, ‘I asked the checkout operator yesterday, and it has been discontinued.’

The rumour sent shockwaves through the loyal customer base.

'Why would you discontinue a number-one item?' questioned an angry shopper.

‘They better not discontinue it, or there will be hell to pay it is just the best pre-soaker there is.’ stated another customer.

Another chimed in, 'I’ve got two in my cupboard. I'll treat them like liquid gold.'

To shed some light on the mystery, Yahoo Lifestyle reached out to ALDI and was assured that the Di-San product remains part of their offering.

The ALDI spokesperson clarified, 'This award-winning product has been a customer favourite for many years, winning ALDI's People's Pick award three years in a row, and we can assure our customers it is certainly not discontinued.'

ALDI also clarified to 7NEWS and assured that Di San wasn't being discontinued.

A spokesperson for ALDI told 7NEWS.com.au, 'We can assure our customers it is certainly not discontinued.' So, take a sigh of relief, folks!

Key Takeaways

We use the purple Di-San. As adults there are not too many stains to remove at our place so it last quite a while, but one never knows when there’s that major spill that requires treating. So we’ll be buying another two bottles, just in case they go off the shelves.

I might do the same!

I love the Di San range but have never seen it at that price so where do they sell it at such a low price?

I don't think me buying 2 extra bottles (as I said, just in case) will create a panic or shortage. Do people only buy one roll of toilet paper so others can buy their one roll also????? I buy 30 rolls at a time when on special and I see they are still very much available.

I’ve noticed that the trend is - things disappear from the shelves foe a while then come back $2 dearer.

I’ve been looking for it for several weeks now but no luck so if it is still available I’d love to know where.
