We tend to have more difficulty understanding the new updates on our phones. The new features, redesigns, and added functionality can be confusing and frustrating. It's often hard to figure out how to use the new features, or even where they are.
For our members who are iPhone users, we've got news for you.
Apple has recently released the iOS16 — a new update for the iPhone's operating software.
For some of our members who are not aware of what operating software is, it is the most significant programme that runs on a computer and mobile because it controls all of a computer's software and hardware, as well as its memory and processes.
The new software introduces exciting features including an updated lock screen and the option to unsend text messages.
However, even though many iPhone users have already enthusiastically downloaded the update, others have claimed that the new iOS 16 update is reducing their battery life.

Several angry iPhone owners have posted on Twitter to air their frustration with the new update.
One user wrote: 'Experiencing a huge amount of battery drain on the official iOS 16 release. My battery went down 10% within an hour without even touching it.'
'Do NOT update to ios 16 unless you want your battery to go from 100 to 90 in 30 mins,' another advised.
A third asked: 'Anyone else having issues with battery after updating to ios 16?'
'My battery drains faster than normal—even with minimal browsing. This kinda sucks.'
If you are worried that the new update will also drain your iPhone's battery, do not fret!
According to ZDNet, a communications platform for technology information, it is unlikely that the battery problems will continue for a long time.
ZDNet researcher Adrian Kingsley-Hughes said: ‘'Installing a new OS on an iPhone triggers a lot of stuff to go on in the background, from indexing to recalibrating the battery, and this can go on for hours or even days.'
'Not only does this consume power, but the battery recalibration can give the impression that the battery is draining more rapidly when in fact it isn't.'
'Add to this the dual factor of a lot of app updates happening following a new release, combined with a lot of new features available that may put more drain on an older handset.'
Mr Kingsley-Hughes suggests monitoring your battery health if you're concerned about the battery life of your iPhone and it's been a few days since you updated to iOS 16.
'If you go to Settings > Battery > Battery Health and the message is that it is good for Peak Performance Capability, then it's either just the normal stuff going on or a bug,' he added.
You can also always visit an Apple Store in person where they can help with any of your questions.
For those who are planning to download the new update, here's a list of some of the significant feature changes in iOS 16.
More personalised lock screen features
Apple's new iOS 16 update is a game-changer – and not just because of the new emojis. The biggest update with iOS 16 is the lock screen, which can now be personalised.
Users have the option of displaying a selection of widgets on the lock screen, showcasing their favourite images, and customising font styles.
If you frequently check the weather, for instance, you might decide to permanently add a weather widget to your iPhone's lock screen.
Apple's announcement read: 'The lock screen is more personal, beautiful, and helpful than ever with a multilayered effect that artfully sets subjects of photos in front of the time and newly designed widgets that offer information at a glance.'
'For lock screen inspiration, the wallpaper gallery offers a range of options, including Apple collections, a Weather wallpaper to see live weather conditions as they change throughout the day, an Astronomy wallpaper for views of the Earth, moon, and solar system, and many more.'

Edit and unsend messages
Some new features are coming to the Messages app, which you'll be delighted to hear if you're someone who frequently makes mistakes in their texts.
Apple announced that you will soon be able to make changes to a message you've just sent or decide to unsend it altogether.
Additionally, you can mark a message as unread if you are unable to respond to it right away so that you can do so later without forgetting.
New Photo Library
The 'best way to share photos with your family,' according to Apple, is through the new iCloud Shared Photo Library.
Depending on the commencement date or the subjects of the images, users can decide what to include in their shared libraries.
'Once the shared library is set up, you can share photos instantly straight from Camera, choose to share automatically when other shared library members are nearby, and get smart suggestions for adding photos to the shared library in For You,' the company explained.
More enhanced mail functions
Mail's search feature has been enhanced to get more precise and comprehensive results.
Users can now unsend emails, just like they do with Messages.
Apple announced: 'Easily unsend an email you've just sent, schedule messages to be sent whenever you like, and get reminders to follow up or come back to a message later.'
Live Text with videos and pictures
Live Text has been updated and now supports video in addition to having easy actions.
The company said: 'Live Text gets more powerful with the ability to recognise text in video and quickly convert currency, translate text, and more.'
For instance, you could take a picture of the price tag on a punnet of grapes and your iPhone would instantly convert the price to your local currency if you were travelling in France and need to know how much the fruit is going to cost.
Easier travel with Apple Maps
You may now plan and add several stops to your itineraries in Apple Maps.
According to Apple, you may simply browse prior itineraries in Recents or plan several stops along your trip in advance.
You can look up directions on your Mac and view them on your iPhone when you're ready to travel because Maps syncs with all of your devices.
New Medications Feature in the Health App
The Health app now contains a new Medications option from Apple.
The Health app's new 'Medications' function, according to the statement, 'helps you manage, track, and understand the medications you take.'
Users will now be able to use the Fitness app even if they don't own an Apple Watch, in the meantime.
Even if you don't own an Apple Watch, the Fitness app can still assist you in tracking and achieving your fitness objectives, according to Apple.
Your steps, distance travelled, and outside exercises will now estimate your calories to help you reach your daily movement target using the iPhone's motion sensors.
Updates are designed to make our lives easier, but more often than not, they end up doing the opposite. We have to relearn how to use the app or the software, and sometimes, the update will even introduce new bugs.
It's frustrating, to say the least. But we just have to get used to it. After all, they're meant to improve our experience with the app or software. We just have to be patient and give them a chance!
