A growing trend on social media is showing off meticulous and aesthetically pleasing storage and organisation. In fact, there are dedicated social media accounts just for it.

Home organisation and styling enthusiast Taylah, who posts under the username Monochrome Home, has taken to TikTok to share some of her top picks for affordable organising products from Kmart.



The Queensland interior design savvy takes a tour around her local store to show off some of the items in the budget retailer's home organisation range.

The first item that she showcases is the $19 Expandable Cutlery Tray, saying: "If your home didn't come with a cutlery insert, this is perfect for you."

She also suggests the Large Under Shelf Fridge Drawer — which retails for $10 — for those who are looking for the perfect space for storing snacks, cheese, and packs of yoghurt.

Taylah also recommends the following items in her clip — $5 Clear Spice Drawer Tray, the Over the Door Towel Rack which retails for $15, the $19 3 Tier Bamboo Pantry Shelf, Small Cut Out Edge Storage Tub that sells for $3, and the Bamboo Storage Turntable, $19.


The video went viral, amassing more than 100,000 views from home organisation enthusiasts, keen to visit their local Kmart stores to get their hands on some of these items.

One person wrote: "I love your ideas on how to use the items."

"Seriously love Kmart but get so lost with knowing what to use."

Another comment read: "Ooooh deep under shelf drawer! I have a shallow one, I need this!"

Others claimed that they have bought the items themselves and shared some other uses for them.

One person suggested: "I use the bamboo lazy Susan for skincare and the spice tray for makeup setting sprays and skincare."

"I love the clear spice drawer insert. I use mine to store all of my foundations. It’s perfect!" another shared.

However, as supply chain issues hit some Kmart stores across the country, a number of TikTok users expressed their frustration over the fact that the items are not available or in stock.

One person quipped: "I've not seen a Kmart with stock in it for months."

It should be noted, however, that some of the items are available online. So, for those who are looking to get their hands on these amazing items, you might want to consider checking Kmart's website and calling your local store before heading out to shop.
