Without further ado, let's take a look at her responses to these frequently asked questions!

Question 1: Is the water safe to drink on flights?

Many passengers express concerns about the safety of onboard water after US flight attendants warned them against drinking coffee or tea on planes due to 'rarely cleaned' water tanks. However, Brodie puts their minds at ease by stating, 'Is the water safe to drink? Yes, it is. It is filtered, and it's clean.'

Question 2: Why do window shades need to be up for take-off and landing?

Brodie explained that having window shades up during critical phases of the flight allows passengers to view the engines, something the cabin crew cannot do. She stated, 'It's because you can see the engines, and we can't see, so you've got to let us know if something happens.'

Question 3: Does everyone’s human waste get dumped mid-air?

Contrary to some misconceptions, no waste is dumped mid-air. Brodie clarified, 'Does everyone’s pee and poo just go straight into the sky? No, it goes into a sewage tank, and then it gets emptied once we land.'

Question 4: Why do you have to put your oxygen mask on before you help others?

This seems counterintuitive for some caring passengers. However, Brodie rightly noted, 'Because you won't be very useful if you don't have oxygen on yourself.'

Question 5: Can the doors be opened mid-flight?

Brodie assured passengers that they could not open the doors during a flight, stating, 'Look, unless you have superhuman strength, no.' However, this story suggests otherwise!

Question 6: Why are there strict weight limits on carry-on bags?

For those wondering about the rationale behind this rule, Brodie explained, 'That's because the overhead lockers can only hold so much weight.'

Question 7: Do you get more drunk in an aircraft?

A piece of information that older passengers might find interesting and rather surprising is that passengers tend to feel more inebriated on a flight. Brodie confirmed this, saying, 'It's because of the lower oxygen percentage in the air, the effects of alcohol are greater, so make sure you make good choices when you're flying.'

Apart from these intriguing answers, viewers of Brodie's video also noticed that her scarf was actually a clip-on.

When asked about this, she replied, 'It's a safety thing. In case of emergencies, we won't get stuck, or if someone tries to grab it, we can move away. The ties that our male crew wear are also clip-on rather than a normal tie for the same reason.'

I asked a stewardess; 'How often do planes crash?' Her reply? 'Just once!'

With reference to Qx 5 on opening airplane doors. The stewardess was right to say that it is almost near impossible to open the plane's door mid-flight given that they would be travelling at around 38, 000 feet and the atmospheric pressure outside the plane would restrict opening the door. The case in Korea was only possible cause the plane had gone down to around 700 feet as it was preparing to land. The atmospheric pressure was almost close to sea level n opening doors then is possible. Just thought I'd share my 2 cents worth.

Great that you pointed the altitude difference, @ASK! I've had some friends wonder why people weren't sucked out the door if it was opened mid-flight.
