Cyleena on TikTok shared a ‘before and after’ transformation of her living room as proof that you don’t need to break the bank to change up a room.
‘Our one and only DIY project,’ she captioned.
The room looked a bit dated with dark wood panelling all over the walls. This was accentuated with a built-in cabinet on one wall made from dark timbre.
Cyleena and her husband then decided to cover the wood panelling with white paint, and the cabinet a cool grey with bluish undertones.
Many of Cyleena’s followers were impressed by the small change.
‘The whole room looks so bright and happy,’ said one.
‘I really enjoy the look of painted wood panelling,’ added another.
One social media user shared that they also painted their panelling too and now it looks like it has a ‘lake/boat house vibe’.
A fourth shared: ‘I usually disapprove of painting over good-looking wood, but this is a big exception. I never cared for wall panels anyway.’
