Incredible transformation of your favourite 90s sitcom star—you won't recognise them now!

The 1990s were a golden era for sitcoms, and Home Improvement has remained a nostalgic favourite.

The series, which gave us laughs and family warmth, also introduced us to a cast of characters that became household names.

Among them was Richard Karn, who played the lovable and wise Al Borland, known for his plaid shirts and trusty tool belt.

Decades after the show's finale, Karn emerged with a stunning physical transformation, which caused fans to do a double-take.

At 68 years young, Richard Karn has embraced a healthier lifestyle alongside his wife, Tudi Roche, who also appeared on Home Improvement in a recurring role.

The couple embarked on a strict diet, which saw Karn shed an impressive 14 kilograms, the New York Post reported.

In an interview with Fox News Digital, the actor opened up about his weight loss journey, revealing their disciplined approach to eating habits.

'We did this weight loss thing where we [ate] four ounces of meat and four ounces of vegetables, with no carbs or not as many carbs. We did that for six weeks. It really helped,' Karn explained.

The actor emphasised the importance of moderation and the realisation that our bodies don't require as much food as we often think.

'After six weeks, I think your body and mind realised that helped,' he said.

Karn's transformation is not just about the numbers on the scale; it's about a shift in mindset.

He reflected on the challenges of maintaining a healthy diet during the filming of Home Improvement, where the temptation of food on set and at events was constant.

'At some point, you have to stop and go, “You know, I really could eat all of this, but I shouldn't. I can't, and look at me, I'm 10 pounds (4.5 kilograms) more than I want to be.” And everything else is in moderation,' he shared.

The actor, who has since 'evened out' to a comfortable weight, even felt he looked 'too thin' after the weight loss.

Karn's journey back into the spotlight doesn't end with his physical transformation.

In 2021, he reunited with Tim Allen, his co-star from Home Improvement, for the competition series Assembly Required.

The duo's chemistry was a hit, with fans longing to return to the Taylor family's antics.

Speaking of reunions, Tim Allen has teased the possibility of a Home Improvement reboot or spin-off, imagining a scenario where the original kids now have their children.

'It's funny. One of the conversations we've had recently was about how weird it would be if Home Improvement were about the kids' kids,' Allen mused.

However, Patricia Richardson, who played Allen's wife, Jill Taylor, on the show, has denied being approached for such a project, adding a layer of mystery to the potential revival.

I used to love that show and forgot all about it. I remember Richard Karn who played Tim Allen's sidekick.
I don't think I remember him in anything else but Home Improvement.

It's always great to look at other ways to improve your health.

I've now loss 18kg but not by choice. My doctor has put me on Ozempic for my diabetes. You basically don't want to eat.
I usually have 3 to 5 coffees a day now I'm down to 1 .
I am drinking lots of water, and taking vitamins

Ozempic for diabetes made me very ill. Had to walk around with sick bucket at home. I can see why it would help with weight loss as it certainly reduces appetite.
