Imagine winning millions while on the loo! Discover how this NSW man did just that with Powerball!

In a twist that sounds like it's straight out of a movie, a man from Taree on the mid-north coast of New South Wales had the surprise of his life, all while engaging in one of life's most mundane tasks. Picture this: you're sitting on the toilet, probably scrolling through your phone, and you decide to check your lottery ticket. That's exactly what this NSW man did, only to discover he had won a staggering $4.6 million in Powerball.

The winner, who chose to remain anonymous, had been oblivious to his newfound wealth over the weekend, having missed several phone calls attempting to deliver the life-changing news. It wasn't until that fateful bathroom break that he checked his ticket and realized his fortune. 'I was actually sitting on the toilet when I checked my ticket,' he told The Lott. The disbelief was palpable as he recounted showing his wife and frantically googling the numbers to confirm the win. 'It's come at the most amazing time,' he said, still reeling from the shock.

The winning numbers in Powerball draw 1476 on Thursday were 12, 21, 6, 15, 9, 34, and 20, with the all-important Powerball number being 15. His ticket was the only division-one winning entry, netting him a cool $4,681,528.85.

But what makes this story even more heartwarming is the winner's plan for his windfall. In a true show of friendship and generosity, he intends to share his good fortune. 'I've got a good mate that I'm going to help out. We've both been through some really tough times together,' he shared. The anticipation of telling his friend about the plans was almost as exciting as the win itself. 'I'll be seeing him later in the week, so I can't wait to tell him. Thank you so much. This is life-changing.'

Stories like this are a reminder of the unpredictability of life and the joy of unexpected blessings. It also brings to light the camaraderie and loyalty that exists among friends, with the winner's first thought being to help a mate in need.

Now, dear readers, while we can't all expect to win the lottery, this tale does make one ponder about the little moments in life that can turn out to be monumental. It's a reminder to check those old lottery tickets you might have lying around because you never know – your next trip to the loo could be just as lucrative!

That’s disgusting taking your phone to the toilet 🤢 why dirty 🐷
My beautiful baby girl {she turns 40 this year} has always been our social butterfly especially when it comes to being on the phone, she would drive me insane. The first mobile she ever owned she dropped down the loo. Mum "I've dropped my phone down the toilet". Me - 2 questions Shannan {1} what do you want me to do about it, {2} Why in the world would you take your phone to the toilet?

Hope he didn't jump up in joy before he had finished what he was doing on the loo.....
Ah what the hell, if you've won that much you can always clean up later.😂

What is disgusting about taking a phone to the toilet? People do a myriad of things on the pot, like read the newspaper or a book, do a crossword or read a letter. It's just another seat in the house!

When I was a child a man I knew died in his toilet. My mother, a nurse, explained to me that many people have heart attacks in the toilet. I don't know if there would be time to make a call, but maybe we should get over 'dirty' and think 'practical'. I still wouldn't take my phone there.

Your mother was correct, sadly my mother in law passed away in the toilet. After a afternoon nap she went to the loo and we believe had a massive heart attack. My mother in law had had open heart surgery two years prior for a leaking heart valve.
Sadly she lived alone after loosing her husband four months earlier. Even more tragic was the fact my husband their only child found his mother after we could not contact her on the phone. She had been there we think about 16 hours. Poor darling.
My husband has never recovered from this.
Gosh it seems a life time ago now. It was 1994. We were so young hubby was 35 l was 31 and we lost my husbands parents four months and four days apart.
I truly hope this man makes the most of life and enjoys his winnings every day.
Kind regards to all Vicki

Hey there, Vege,
The only time the phone rings for you is always when you're in 1 of 2 places. On the the Toot or in the Shower. It never fails.

Bye the way, I had a share in a syndicate for Tuesday nights $30M Oz Lotto. Cost me $50 or so, never raised a cracker, as per usual.

That particular winner lives 50 k's south of where we are. In the frame of time, he was quite close. Good luck to him.
