Iconic singer is ‘doing really well’–see what’s got his family beaming with pride!

John Farnham’s health journey has captured the hearts of many, with his fans and family eagerly watching his recovery after a major battle.

But as he continues to regain his strength, there’s even more exciting news from the Farnham household that’s creating a buzz.

Here’s the latest update on the singer’s health and the milestone moment his family can’t stop celebrating.

John Farnham is embracing life after his cancer battle, with his son James revealing that the singer, now 75, is 'kicking goals' ahead of becoming a grandfather.

Farnham, who underwent 12-hour surgery for throat cancer in August 2022, had a tumour removed from his mouth and his jaw reconstructed.

Since then, he has received the all-clear from doctors regarding the cancer.

James joined Natalie Barr and Matt Shirvington on Sunrise to share an update on his father's recovery.

‘He’s doing great, he’s doing really well, walking around, kicking goals....annoying mum,’ James said, laughing.

James also revealed that his father had already chosen what he wanted to be called by his first grandchild, due later this year.

The youngest son of the iconic singer, James and his partner Tessa are expecting a son.

‘We’re all really excited, another little Farnham on the way,’ James said.

‘I can’t wait to take him up to the farm and get dad to teach him everything he taught me.’

Farnham has decided he wants to be called ‘Pa’ by his new grandchild.

James also spoke about the powerful tribute paid to his father by Guy Sebastian and Jessica Mauboy at last year’s Logies.

‘He thought it was amazing,’ James shared.

‘Me and my brother were in the room — it was amazing to see it from a different view, really cool vibe.

‘Dad was really impressed.’

The documentary John Farnham: Finding The Voice won a Logie last year, which thrilled Farnham.

James went on to discuss Cancer Research Giving Day, noting that donations would be doubled until midnight on 4 February.

Since their father’s diagnosis, James and his brother Rob have become involved in raising awareness and funds for cancer research, including Daffodil Day.

‘Given the fact that dad went through brutal cancer, we were asked by Daffodil Day to be ambassadors—we jumped at the chance,’ Rob told Sunrise last August.

‘It’s such an amazing opportunity to push that forward. And the things that they do for fundraising and research, it helps recovery process, helps families, helps the people who have the cancer. ‘

‘Cancer is one of those things that doesn’t just affect the person going through it, it affects everyone else around them.’
