How to apply​

You can now apply for an ACT Seniors Card through this handy web form.

When completing an application form, you are required to provide proof of age and residency.

Acceptable forms of ID include:
  • Medicare card
  • Centrelink Healthcare card
  • Centrelink Pensioner Concession card
  • DVA Healthcare card
Acceptable forms of proof of age include:
  • Driver’s Licence
  • Birth Certificate or Extract
  • Australian Passport

Fees​

There is no cost when applying for this card.



New South Wales

Once you have confirmed you meet the eligibility requirements, click the 'Apply Online' button here.

Complete and submit the online form.

You will receive an email when the application is processed, and the card will arrive in the post within 21 days.

Queensland

How to apply for a Seniors Card in QLD



There are three types of Seniors Cards available in Queensland. The standard Seniors Card, Seniors Card+go, and a Seniors Business Discount Card.

There is one application process for all three cards, once your application has been processed you will be issued the card that you are eligible for.

How to apply​


You can apply:

Online on the Queensland Government website which you can find here.

In-person at a Queensland Government service centre. You can find your closest service centre here.

Over the phone by calling 13 74 68.

By post: Print and complete the application form, then post it to:

Brisbane Adelaide Street,
QLD, 4000

You will receive a confirmation when the application is processed, and the card will arrive in the post within 4 weeks.



What do I need to apply?​


When you apply, you’ll be asked for proof of age and address and will need to provide one of these four numbers:
  • Your Centrelink customer reference number (CRN)
  • Your Department of Veterans Affairs file number
  • Queensland driver’s licence number
  • Queensland adult proof of age or photo identification card number

The name on your official document must be the same name used in your application.

South Australia

How to apply:​

Apply online here.

You will need either:
  • Your driver’s licence number
  • Medicare number
  • Pension card number

Alternatively, you can print and complete the Seniors Card application form. Or pick one up from any South Australian Public Library. Find your closest library here.

You will need a copy of a document that proves your age, for example
  • Birth certificate
  • Drivers licence
  • Passport

The final step is to sign and send. You must sign the form in front of someone that is over 18 years old and not related to you. They must also sign a copy of your proof of age.

Once all the steps are complete, send the form to

You will receive your card in approximately two weeks and it is ready to use as soon as you receive it. If you are planning to travel during peak times, you’ll need to add credit to your Seniors Metrocard.

There are no income or pension limits and the card is free of charge.


Tasmania

Take three pieces of identification (one showing proof of your Tasmanian address and one your date of birth) to Service Tasmania.
For example, your driver’s licence, your birth certificate and your Medicare card.

Victoria

At a local library (Seniors Card only)
If you are applying for a Victorian Seniors Card (NOT a Business Discount Card) you can pick up an application form from your local library.

Once you have completed and submitted the application form, allow up to three weeks for it to be processed and for your card to get to you through the post.

  • your valid green Medicare card details or Department of Veteran Affairs (DVA) card details

Western Australia

Download the application form and print it (or pick one up at the WA Seniors Card Centre, or your local Australia Post Outlet).

What do I need to apply?​


You will need to enter personal details such as name, age and employment status.

You will need to attach copies of identification for the 100-point ID check, which provides:
  • Date of birth
  • Photo ID
  • Proof of Australian citizenship or permanent residency
  • Proof of current WA residential address

The name on your official document must be the same name used in your application or documents to show proof of name change must be also submitted.
