How are you feeling today?

Hey there, members!

Today is October 10th, which is also World Mental Health Day!

How are you feeling today? Is there something on your mind that you'd like to share with us?
It could be as simple as a cool new recipe you tried, or something more personal that you'd like to get off your chest. This post is your space to express yourself; we're all ears! (Or, eyes, in this case.)

Don't hesitate to join the conversations and share your thoughts in the comments below. Let's make this a day of honest communication, just like friends catching up over a cuppa. ☕

So government and banking industry want us to go to a cashless society. I have had yet another embarrassing experience this morning when doing a transaction on my Members Equity Bank card. For the second time in two weeks payment was declined. The first time I rang I was advised I had blocked my card back in May, which I didn't, and was using it right up until a couple of weeks ago. Error was rectified straight away so I could buy groceries again. This morning when it declined again, I immediately rang ME bank and was advised there is a widespread glitch I their system which they are trying to fix, and couldn't tell me when card transactions were going to be back on line..I have my car being serviced and repaired at our local mechanics today in Gin Gin Qld and possibly won't be able to pay for this bill when I pick up my car this afternoon..embarrassing and highly inconvenient!

Can someone please explain why seniors have to pay to have a MRI $400.00 is a lot of money this is so wrong.

Yesterday I was at a local shopping center and witnessed a group of young Aboriginal youths enter a shop, scatter about, and then leave in a hurry. One I noticed had a pair of Eagles Shorts in his hand and pulled the tag off and just threw it on the floor of the mall. The shop assistant was coming out of the shop after them and on her phone to call the security. He dawdled along, obviously not wanting to approach the group. He retrieved one pair of shorts and I asked the assistant if she was ok. She said they stole 4 pairs of shorts.
Later I saw the group in the carpark waving the shorts about. I approached them and asked them to go back and return the stolen goods. Can't repeat what they said. I told them they were a disgrace to their race and no wonder people don't want to vote for them to have a better life, behaving like this. I was so angry. There needs to be a better way to try and teach these youths respect. The Voice won't improve this type of situation. They just laughed at me.

Not sure why you are being charged for an MRI. If you are on a pension it is bulkbilled. Both my husband and I have had MRI's ordered by specialists and were bulkbilled. I do know that if it's not requested by specialists you may get charged..

Misbehaving youth of any cultural origin are best left alone if they have stolen and are blatantly crowing about in disregard littleboy. I like your attitude but challenging the pack won't do a thing except cause potential trouble for you. The shop needs CCTV cameras love.

When I was diagnosed with Diabetes 2 I was referred to a Diabetic Dietician as well as an ordinary Dietician. They gave me conflicting information so I worked things out for myself. So far my tests since diagnosis have been OK and no problems. So it is a matter of common sense as well as diet and what that consists of.

Tell you what, you’re lucky, over here in WA the abbo’s would have attacked you if not killed you just for standing up to them and as always they attack in groups…..Rick
Its a fact that Italian gangs, Lebanese gangs, Greek gangs, Somali gangs, Aboriginal gangs, bikie gangs Innercity punk gangs all sorts of people that travel in packs are best left alone unless they can't be avoided. Lifes a long time for some and a short time for others... Drunk female gangs are the worst but they usually only prey on other women. I've encountered Geraldton street gangs that numbered in their forties with the youngest about 11 years of age the oldest about 19 coming down the street kicking cans smashing letter boxes, just bored and looking for trouble the police sitting in a patrol car on a side street just letting them all roll by. Best to ignore them, like the police and politicians do.

I have to take my shoes and socks off to count the times I've been punched in the back of the head by youth gang members in Dandenong. So tough when there is three or more of them. You just walk up to the biggest one and offer them a pugilistic polka and they soon shit themselves. Gutless wimps the lot of them.

Kids mostly but that doesn't make them any less dangerous. I have had so many interactives this post would turn into a bio.

I have been a Martial arts enthusiast since 1970 and a trainer since 1974 and I have more experience than most, though its impossible to convince government funding bodies about that. As an example: What I did in Fremantle after seeing blood stains on the footpath of an Italian coffee shop a few years back, was find out the blood was from a local Noongar mob fighting regularly there with an Italian mob.
I went to the Coburn CYSS that the kooris frequented introduced myself to Jenny Zed the coordinator, explained my proposal, went to the Italian coffee shop and put an advertisement for my workshop in the Freemantle paper.

Then without telling either group, that both groups were being invited, I got twenty from each group, to pay to come into the same Martial Arts training workshop with me for about 8 weeks at one hour a time.

The first half hour on day one was a bit funky, A lot of argy-bargy but I just shrugged nonplussed and said the way I look at it, everybody's paid. The money is nonrefundable and its all legally signed by everyone of you. You lot can either learn I pointed at one mob, or the other mob can learn or better still everyone can just put your emotions aside and learn, the truth is I don't care either way. You have paid for professional instruction and the instruction according to that big clock has started.

I won't get into my training model, but I had to INTRODUCE myself to a few and physically explain in a professionally measured way why they needed to pay attention and to gain their appreciation and by the end of the third week (all on record) they stopped fighting because they all got to get to know each other... And Fremantle the war zone, settled down, sometimes people just need time to get to know and appreciate each other in a rule governed environment and that's all it takes.

@Pink lion that is such a wonderful job that you are doing! Very similar to what one of my lecturers does. An Italian, substance abuser and former bikie associate, he turned his life around to counsel and instruct youths in martial arts who have been through the juvenile justice system.
At 67, he figures prominently in veteran weightlifting and martial arts tournaments with great success.
And kudos to you for a difficult but rewarding job! 👍
