Homemade Chicken Broth Recipe

Chicken broth is a type of clear soup made from simmering chicken bones and vegetables in water. It is a staple in many cuisines and is often used as a base for other soups and sauces. Homemade chicken broth is a healthy and nutritious soup that is packed with protein, vitamins, and minerals. It is low in calories and fat and is a good source of hydration. Ingredients:
-1 kg chicken bones
-1 onion
-1 carrot
-1 celery stalk
-1 parsnip
-1 bay leaf
Instructions:
1. Place the chicken bones in a large pot.
2. Peel and chop the onion, carrot and celery stalk, and add them to the pot.
3. Add the parsnip and bay leaf.
4. Cover the ingredients with water and bring to a boil.
5. Reduce the heat and simmer for 3-4 hours.
6. Remove the pot from the heat and allow it to cool slightly.
7. Skim off any foam that has formed on the surface.
8. Strain the broth into a clean pot or container.
9. Discard the solids.
The broth can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or frozen for up to 3 months.
To make the broth extra special, you can add additional vegetables such as leeks, garlic, or mushrooms. You can also add herbs such as thyme, rosemary, or sage.
