'He's quite an aggressive man': Aussie celebrity reveals controversial Hollywood star's behaviour

The film industry often presents a facade of perfection and camaraderie among celebrities.

However, the reality can be far from the idyllic picture behind the scenes.

This darker side of the entertainment industry came to light once again with an Australian actor's recent revelations while filming in Hollywood.

Aussie actor Guy Pearce once again opened up about his experience with an infamous Hollywood actor.

Pearce, a seasoned actor known for his work on Neighbours, opened up about the unsettling behaviour he endured with L.A. Confidential co-star Kevin Spacey.

In a candid interview on the Hollywood Reporter's Awards Chatter, Pearce described Spacey as a 'handsy' man.

Pearce also admitted to feeling targeted by his co-star's advances.

Despite his reluctance to label himself as a victim, Pearce's account added to the growing list of allegations against Spacey.

Pearce's recollection of the events painted a picture of a young actor who brushed off a more established star's advances as 'nothing'.

'I did that for five months, and really, I was sort of scared of Kevin because he's quite an aggressive man,' Guy Pearce recalled during the interview.

'He's extremely charming and brilliant at what he does — really impressive, et cetera. He holds a room remarkably.'

'But I was young and susceptible, and he targeted me, no question,' Pearce added.

Guy Pearce also admitted that he only felt 'safe' when his co-stars were around.

'The only days I feel safe are the days when Simon Baker is on set because I'm dumped like a hot potato, and Kevin focuses on Simon because he was ten times prettier than I am,' Pearce added.

Kevin Spacey was an award-winning actor during his prime.

However, his career took a nosedive after accusations of sexual misconduct.

Pearce immediately broke down after remembering another star's testimony against Kevin Spacey.

Hollywood actor and singer Anthony Rapp accused Spacey of making sexual advances towards him at the age of 14.

'I was in London working on something, and I heard the reports. I broke down and sobbed, and I couldn't stop,' Pearce shared.

'I think it really dawned on me the impact that had occurred, how I brushed it off, and how I either shelved it or blocked it out or whatever. That was a really incredible wake-up call.'

As for Kevin Spacey, the actor denied the allegations and was acquitted of sexual assault charges in the United Kingdom back in 2023.

He responded to Pearce's comments through a video posted online.

'Guy Pearce, I've now read the comments that you made about me, and while I would have preferred not to have to play this out in the media, you obviously have your reasons for wanting to do exactly that,' Spacey stated in the video.

'We worked together a long time ago, you know? If I did something then that upset you, you could've reached out to me. We could've had that conversation.

'But instead, you've decided to speak to the press, who are now coming after me because they would like to know what my response is to the things that you've said.'

'You really want to know what my response is? Grow up,' Spacey ended.

Pearce's experience was a telling sign of the power dynamics in the entertainment industry.

It should also be a stark reminder that harassment in the workplace can happen to anyone.

I believe at the time this occurred Guy Pearce was around 30 years of age - hardly a child. Whilst I don't condone the alleged behaviour of Kevin Spacey I think Guy Pearce is stretching here somewhat. He was a grown man and well able to tell Spacey exactly where to go with his alleged behaviour.

Front the star and trashed his own career?

I find that the Mee Too movement has done more harm than good. Why is it that victims come out only when someone brings it up. There should be a time line on when you can claim money from them. Bringing up stuff 20-30 years ago is just a joke. I am not saying there are not victims out there, I myself was molested at 13 by my brother in law, and yes, I said nothing as my sister was pregnant at the time. Although he is dead now, should I have sued his estate. I don't think so. Just build a bridge and stop dwelling on the past.

Until these predators are outed they will continue with their sick behaviours. A lot of victims are either embarrassed, traumatised or feel that they won`t be believed, that is why many don`t speak out until others come forward or the perps are arrested. Also not all victims want financial compensation for these crimes they want justice and a feeling of safety.

Great that you can were a bridge builder but not everyone is,and you obviously and sadly have not gotten over what happened to you or young would not be talking about it anonymously on this forum.I think you should speak to someone and not to sue,but to just get what happened to you off your chest and then and only then might you be able to cross that bridge.I wish you all the very best.

You being a victim should know better. It's only been in the past few years that something is done to these abusers.

My sister from the age of 8 to 15 was abused by our sperm donor.
She told me about it and I took it to both docs and the police.
The police interviewed her in front if sperm donor and stepmother. She was 12 , scared and wouldn't answer questions.
At 16 she went to live with her grandmother.
What happened to her affected her physically and mentally.

She went to a number of psychiatrist.
She married but due to her depression and not dealing with her husband touching her ,their marriage ended.

She went on and remarried a very understanding man.
She never stopped seeing her psychiatrist and her psychiatrist said she needed closure and asked if she wanted to report him. Why my sister did report him was because she found out he had done it to two granddaughter's.

It took the detectives two years to gather information and when they had it all he was arrested.
He was sentenced to 11 years jail but out for good behaviour at 8 years. He gets out this month and he is 83.

My sister still sees her psychiatrist but at least after all these years she has closure and stopped it happening to others
