Thank for sharing, and Happy Birthday. Sounds like you’ve lived a very interesting life with some important moments. After my Birthday Monday I began going through my life, being Easter at the w/e my memory went back 76 years to when I was an 18/19 yrs old on Active Service in Jerusalem, we left there a day or two before it became Israel on the Saturday, unfortunately we lost one of our mates during this time and at the end of our lining up to leave a Cpl. received a bad wound in the chest, both of these incidents was the result of sniper fire.
Dennis R's Morning Sick Joke. Why did Piglet look in the Toilet? HE was looking for Pooh.
That's what happens when you're in a country filled with barbaric misogynistic cult of uncivilised psychos, no, not the Israelis.Thank for sharing, and Happy Birthday. Sounds like you’ve lived a very interesting life with some important moments.![]()

THANK YOU BOTH FOR YOUR SERVICE!Hello Dennis,
War is tough and the results of what we have to live with afterwards is even tougher. Governments that start the wars recover, but the soldiers, sailors and airmen never do. I lost a few mates as well in the two theatres I was in. Had some very lucky escapes myself. However, the sharing is what helps us. I am sure you were like me and kept it bottled up for years. These forums help because you can share with a degree of anonymity. If you ever feel the need to write, just drop me a personal message.

It's hard on the civilians as well. Especially when you get fired on from an enemy aircraft on the way to a shelter! This happened to me and my family in England during the 2nd World War.Hello Dennis,
