Heartbreaking news! Popular snack disappears from Coles and Woolworths shelves

Do you recall those days when a small cup of Nesquik would bring immense joy after a tiring day at school?

Or the delight of stocking up on this delightful treat to spoil your beloved grandchildren during their visits?

Unfortunately, those days when you could easily grab a pack of banana-flavoured Nesquik from Coles and Woolworths are long gone.

The once-loved treat has disappeared from the snack aisles and has become part of history.

The Nesquik banana flavour is a delicious twist on the classic chocolate drink, offering a fruity and refreshing taste. Its smooth and creamy texture, combined with the natural sweetness of bananas, makes it a popular choice among Nesquik enthusiasts. Source: Amazon

Holly, from Western Australia, encountered this twist while shopping, adding a new chapter to the story.

She found a giant hole on the shelves where her favourite snack usually sat.

The lack of the banana-flavoured Nesquik left Holly and many other customers surprised and uncertain.

'Coles and Woolworths Australia—you really let your fellow human beings down by taking away banana-flavoured Nesquik,' lamented Holly.

According to Nestle, as confirmed to Daily Mail Australia, the banana-flavoured Nesquik was discontinued in Australia in 2018.

However, it is worth noting that this product can still be found in select specialty stores that import it from the United Kingdom.

Eager to satisfy her craving for the banana-flavoured delight, Holly went to a local supermarket in Western Australia called Spudshed.

To her surprise, she found imported banana-flavoured Nesquik on the shelves, though at a higher price of $8.99.

'Now this is an import item from the UK, so we're going to be paying a bit more than $3.99.' Holly commented.

'With a price tag of $8.99, I am happy to pay this just for my banana-flavoured milk. So thank you, Spudshed!' she added.

As the banana-flavoured Nesquik gradually resurfaces in various locations, such as The Reject Shop for $7 and online platforms like Eurofood and Amazon Australia for approximately $8.30 and $18.70, respectively, we come to terms with the reality that cherished childhood snacks now come with a higher price tag.

Holly's journey of rediscovery ignited a wave of nostalgia in the hearts of others as well, as one commenter expressed, 'Guess I'm making a trip to the Spudshed today! Thanks for sharing.'

Another said, 'Love banana Nesquik! Always bring some back from the US when I go.'

A third added, 'I've just bought some from Mr Fancy Candy. Expensive, but I've been looking for it for ages.'

Key Takeaways

  • Banana-flavoured Nesquik is no longer available at major Australian supermarkets, Coles and Woolworths.
  • The product was discontinued in Australia in 2018 but is available at some specialist stores that import it from the UK.
  • A customer named Holly paid $8.99 to buy her favourite snack from Spudshed, a local supermarket in WA.
  • The banana-flavoured Nesquik is also available at The Reject Shop, Eurofood and Amazon Australia, but the prices are significantly higher than in standard supermarkets.

It’s actually time we removed all highly sweetened empty calories from children’s diets including soft drinks and even concentrated fruit juice boxes. They just don’t need all the diseases in life that it brings

Why do they have to put so much sugar in, in the first place! I don’t even buy orange juice anymore it’s too sweet and apple etc! Now I’m a tap waterholic🙀

That’s got to be better for you!
You can dilute the fruit juice if you really want it - (I would never drink it straight from the bottle) and it goes much further- nice mixed into a bottle of soda water in a jug with ice on a hot summer day🌞

Nah I honestly just don’t like the flavour I do what we did as kids and roll the orange around on a table with the palm of the hand. Makes it squishy and juicy then poke a hole in it with your finger and suck out the juice then eat the pulp.😁yummo!

Tastes as artificial as the pineapple did. Don't even like any Nesquik as they all taste like their artificial since going 'natural' colours/flavours. Go to Reject shop for it though seen it there.

Banana 🍌 nesquik was my sons favourite and yes it's been discontinued for years , my son is now 20 and for his birthday in April my daughter purchased 3 Banana nesquiks for him from Amazon she did pay $11 and it wasn't in the normal round container it was a plastic oval one.
