Having a nap on the school floor

Who else here has fond memories of taking naps on the school floor? Maybe you remember it as ‘sleep time’, especially in kindergarten or pre-school days. A huge shout-out to the teachers who played soothing tunes to lull us into a peaceful slumber!

When I was in kindergarten many many years ago I remember taking a nap in the afternoon at school, what great memories, that’s why I love your page, I look forward to reading it everyday thank you

I never had a nap at school, we had to do lessons all day from the start of kindergarten in our small country multi class, one teacher school. When my kids went to preschool in the late 80s they had to have a rug and pillow provided to have a “rest” after lunch, if they didn’t nap they had to lie quietly and not disturb the other kids. My son was often in trouble for fidgeting and making noise as he never was a kid who could be quiet for very long. Luckily he was only at preschool for six months as I wanted to enjoy having kids as long as I could before giving them up to school life.

I remember this and I hated having to lay down on the floor and try to go to sleep. I couldn't do it and wondered why everyone fell asleep except me. I wasn't tired and wanted to play. I am still a terrible sleeper today!!
