To make the dish good for a four-person household, these are the ingredients you’ll need:
  • 1.5kg Coles (RSPCA Approved) Chicken Drumsticks.
  • 6 garlic cloves.
  • ¼ cup (or 60ml) Coles Soy Sauce.
  • ¼ cup (or 90ml) of Coles Pure Australian Honey.
  • 2 bunches of baby broccoli.
You can adjust this to suit the needs of your household.

To cook the dish, Michael suggests following the steps below!

1. Preheat the oven to 200°C. Cut the thickest part of the chicken drumsticks two to three times (stopping at the bone). Make sure to use a large knife.

2. Crush half the garlic and combine it with soy sauce and honey in a bowl.

3. Heat a large flameproof roasting pan over high heat. Add the chicken and cook, turning, for 5 mins or until golden.

4. Add the honey-soy mixture and cook for 5 mins or until caramelised.

5. Transfer the pan to the oven and bake for 20 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through.

6. Afterwards, heat a greased frying pan over medium heat. Thinly slice the remaining garlic. Add the broccoli to the pan and cook for 2 mins or until just tender. Make sure to toss every so often to cook the food evenly.

7. Add the sliced garlic and cook, stirring, for 30 seconds or until aromatic.

8. Divide the chicken mixture and baby broccoli equally among plates and serve.

Try running a sharp knife around the bottom of the drumstick, just above the knuckle, then the meat will shrink up as it cooks into a lollipop shape which also makes it easier to take the thin bone out for the kids to eat.
