Harry and Meghan considered an Africa move instead of the US

The widely reported move by Harry, Meghan to step back from their senior royal roles and relocate to the United States was not the only path they explored. In fact, the couple, as detailed in Prince Harry's memoir Spare, considered a move to Africa as a serious alternative instead of the US. The idea was a way to carve out a new existence, one where they could still work for the crown but gain some distance from the intense scrutiny of the British tabloids. This wasn’t just a passing thought; Queen Elizabeth II herself even supported the plan.



Africa's special place for Harry and Meghan

Africa has always held a special place for Harry, Meghan. It’s a continent that provided refuge for a young Prince Harry after the tragic death of his mother, Princess Diana. It is also where the couple's romance blossomed during their early days. After only two

While acknowledging how amazing Cape Town would be as a base, he cited the complex political and social issues facing the continent.
