Happy Valentine's Day: Here's Something Special From Me To You

Happy Valentine's Day!

If you're lucky enough to have been sent this link by someone in your life, they want you to know how much you mean to them (hint: a lot).

Spread the love and share this card with the important people in your life ♥️

I’ve been married 55 years (met my husband when I was 16) and every Valentines Day is special to us, not necessarily with big fancy celebration. We don’t throw away any of our cards to one another. Our 3 children have been told to burn all our letters and cards on our deaths without opening (hopefully!). My mum requested we do that on her death & the ashes were added to her plot at the crematorium. It is not the only day we express our love - there’s a kiss and “I love you” every night before going to sleep as well.

The only problem in saying 'I love you' every night is that it really becomes meaningless if repeated too often. Deeds are worth more than empty words. Don't go to bed angry either if you hold a grudge for too long it will eat away at you.

My wife and I still have every card or letter we sent to each other that's 43 years for us

Nice to read everyone’s views and thoughts. We’ve had our tiffs along the way, like all, though some choose to deny any argument has ever happened. We don’t just say “I love you” but also hold hands as we go to sleep as it could one day be the last time we can do so together. My husband spent many months at a time away from home as a ships engineer, we have 3 children, who I had to care for on my own for much of those times so our bond became very close & those separations were heart wrenching to say the least. But thanks for your thoughts, everyone. Stay safe everyone & appreciate who & what you have, love one another as much as you can, as time can be taken away from us at any time without warning.

I have a very sick partner he is in a lot of pain and he also has Parkinson disease. I love him a lot and he loves me . aAlthough I have a lot of health problems myself, we manage by helping each other. We have been together nearly 27yrs. I miss my children as they don’t live near me they live in QLD, Canberra and Hay. So I don’t get to see them very much as I live in Umina Beach NSW
