Gumtree scammers are at it again
Today I posted an ad on www.gumtree.com.au to sell some hanging baskets for the garden. Within 10 minutes, I received this reply:

The sender’s address was [email protected], clearly a scam address. If you use Gumtree as a seller, beware of this scam. It is a clear attempt to get your “banking details”. As Gumtree does not handle your money in any way, they cannot need your banking details, much less need to “confirm” banking details you have never given them.
It is really disgusting how many of these low-life scammers are out there. Be safe. Delete any emails or texts that ask you for personal or banking information. It is a lot easier to avoid a problem than to fix it later. It may not be fixable.
