Groom’s ‘aggressive’ wedding act sparks outrage on social media: ‘Red flag!’

Weddings are meant to be a joyous occasion – one that celebrates the love between two people.

Couples – okay, maybe mostly brides – spend months planning every detail of their big day, from the seating arrangement to the design of the wedding cake. However, it seems that not everyone takes the event quite so seriously.

Case in point: one groom who was recently caught on camera committing an ‘aggressive act’ that's left the internet feeling baffled…And concerned.

A groom has come under fire after a video of his ‘aggressive’ cake-smashing antics on his wedding day went viral.

In a video taken by a guest and posted to TikTok by the bride, Jade Kennedy, the groom can be seen grabbing a handful of wedding cake and then walking over to his wife.

Jade runs to the corner of the room and puts her hands in front of her face while shaking her head – presumably to try and stop the groom from making his advances – and then smashes the fistful of cake to her face.

The force of the groom’s cake smash led Jade to fall to the ground. She even hit her head on the wall on the way down.

The groom falls on top of her and picks her up. They engage in a quick conversation before he walks off and leaves her in the centre of the room.

Bits of her wedding cake can be seen in the neckline of her white gown, and a guest rushes over to help clean her up. Still, Jade doesn’t seem upset and, instead, laughs as she brushes the remaining cake off her dress.

The video, captioned ‘love my a**hole of a husband all the world’, has gone viral with over 211,000 views. The comments section under this video was turned off, so people flocked to her other videos to express their feelings over the groom’s actions during their wedding.

Many users wrote ‘red flag’ in her comments section.

‘What are you thinking? That was a red flag,’ explained one user.

Someone added: ‘Don’t make excuses for his (aggressive) behaviour on your wedding day. You already know it’s wrong and have turned off the comments.’

‘You don’t have to tolerate that disrespect,’ shared another.

A separate user asked Jade if the groom apologised for his actions, to which she said he didn’t.

‘I’m his wife, he has no need to apologise over me and him having some fun on our wedding day!’ Said the bride in the comments.

‘Our relationship is perfect actually…I posted that video for fun.’

Others chimed in the comments to defend Jade.

‘They both caked each other, just one was on camera,’ said one user.

‘He actually went to say sorry to her father once he knew she was fine. Unless you’re there, don’t comment. No one got hurt, it was all a laugh,’ a second wrote.

Some people sent their congratulations and well-wishes to the couple.

‘I hope you’re OK, you looked stunning on your wedding day and if you’re happy that’s all that matters,’ one user commented.

Another wrote: ‘It’s her husband, she’s happy, you don't know him.’

It's so sad that the bride cannot see what sort of wanker she's just married.

I just do not understand the tradition in America of squashing some wedding cake into each other's face.
They couldn't do it if they had the traditional fruit cake, which was popular here for many years.

I didn't look like she was upset and she knew it was going to happen as she tried to runaway. He might have pushed a bit harder than he wanted when they fell over but you can see by the brides smile and body language it was planned. Now it would have been different, if she went off crying after the cake in the face episode. I just showed my husband this video and apart from his comment on why do people rub cake in each others face, I don't get it! He too said it looked like the bride knew it was going to happen. I didn't say anything before he watched the video so he wasn't aware of any of the comments here.
