Grant Denyer reveals heart-warming 'life-changing' news!

You may know Grant Denyer as an Australian television presenter with an energetic and charismatic personality, but did you know he is also an incredibly devoted father?

The Gold Logie award-winning star has shared his own share of challenges in life and has inspired many people by prioritising his health and family over work and fame.

He took time off work to focus on his and his family's well-being and give his youngest daughter, Sunday, who was diagnosed with hip dysplasia, the support and care she needs.

Hip dysplasia is a condition where the hip socket fails to cover the ball portion of the upper thigh bone, which can cause partial or complete dislocation of the hip joint.

In most cases, hip dysplasia is present from birth, and correction is achieved through the use of a body brace once the condition is detected.

Doctors typically screen newborns and perform regular evaluations during visits to check for signs of hip dysplasia.

When hip dysplasia is diagnosed in early infancy, it can often be corrected with the use of a soft brace.

Last year, Sunday underwent a risky full-body cast to treat her hip dysplasia condition.

Grant documented the whole ordeal on social media, sharing photos and videos of him and his wife Chezzi facing this health concern head-on with their three other children.

Thankfully, after eight months, Sunday has now started to run again for the first time!

On Sunday, Grant shared a video update on Instagram of his daughter Sunday energetically running along at home.

Overjoyed by her progress, he exclaimed: ‘She's running! This is huge!’

‘So proud of our gorgeous little Sunday.’

‘She has not let her hip dysplasia hold her back.’

‘It’s been 8 months of a full body plaster cast and now this one, finally she’s figuring out a way to get the mobility she’s always dreamed of.’

Grant emphasised the importance of every child being able to experience this freedom of movement.

He continued: ‘She’s so far behind in some milestones compared to others because of her dislocated hip but then again, she’s blossoming like you wouldn’t believe in so many other ways.’

‘And she’s never complained or gotten frustrated with it. Her spirit is simply extraordinary.’

‘Always smiling, always playing and always captivating us all with her gorgeous attitude to life.’

‘She is a true delight to be around and watch grow.’

‘We love you so much Sunday... You make us proud every day.’

The post has been flooded with thousands of comments from fans who were praising Sunday for her unwavering spirit.

'Look at her go!' wrote radio personality Brendan Jones.

'That’s incredible, a mini Aussie icon in the making and an inspiration for sure,' another user said.

A third chimed in: 'She is so beautiful, you must be very proud of her, such an amazing little girl.'

The video also caught the eyes of fellow parents who also have young children with hip dysplasia, sharing their own stories and giving words of encouragement.

One mum shared: ‘Amazing! We were in the same boat – cast and brace for 7 months (went in 4 days after her first birthday).’

'Our daughter had one and now she’s 11 and unstoppable,' another wrote.

'Our little girl and boy both had plaster and braces too and you should see them now, they don’t stop for nobody! She’s doing amazing.'

A third added: 'We are blessed to see Sunday take these moments for herself and enjoy them despite, or maybe because of, her circumstances. While I know that she still struggles, I've watched her fight through them and not let any of it stop her from being a kid.'

My son also had hip displasia and as a bub treatment was double nappies on newborns till mobile. He seemed to be doing okay then at 6 yrs old his first bout of traction was 6 months then when he was 10 yrs old he spent 11 months in traction. After being released from hospital, within 6 months he was in a full body cast for five years with Perthes disease. He lost 5 years of high school. Back then in the 80s we didn't have available to us what they have now in terms of methods of treatment. Watching him suffer broke my heart but I spent every day with him in hospital and weekends Dad & his 2 sisters played cards, trouble and watched car racing. Parenting is never easy 😊
