Grandpa's Getting A Good Nights Sleep!​

A young man goes to visit his 85-year-old Grandpa in the nursing home.
Grandpa had hurt himself after rolling off the bed in his sleep.
"How are you grandpa?” asked his Grandson.
Grandpa replied, "Just couldn't be better.
These young nurses really take care of you."
"What about sleeping? Do you sleep OK?" asked his Grandson.
Grandpa replied, "No problem, nine hours solid every night.
At 10 o'clock they bring me a cup of hot chocolate and a Viagra tablet
... and that's it. I go out like a light."
The grandson is puzzled and a little alarmed by this,
so, he rushes off to question the charge nurse.
"What are you people doing?" He asks.
"I am told you're giving an 85-year-old Viagra on a daily basis.
Surely that can't be true?"
"Oh, yes," replies the nurse.
"Every night at 10 o'clock we give him a cup of hot chocolate and a Viagra tablet.
It works wonderfully well.
The chocolate makes him sleep, and the Viagra stops him from rolling out of bed.”

He's in "dunrootin" the old people's home. Not sure he could/would be able to put it to good use. Not falling out of bed is OK, isn't it? lmao

Well we're do I begin..I started out in Aged Carer as a PC personal carer,then I went back to Tafe to be come a Divisional Therapist .Which is a fancy name for Activities Coordinator. We had 3 different wings.I worked across all of them with 2 other staff.Ive seen people in other people's rooms,thinking that it was there Husband or Wife.Some residents be came attached to each other.My own Mum ended up in Aged Care.It was a tough job ,but I loved it.

Lol So the Viagra gets his you knwo what so stiff all night so he cannot roll out of bed? Hahaha good one Skipton.

Bloody hard work,but I loved that job.My Mum had Dementia as well,she was in a different Nursing Home.These days Nursing Homes are BIG business. We are all getting older.

Well ,what can I tell you,lots of things happened. Like the day I was organising the Church Service. The Minister started the service when one of the Residents started to attack him.Well the Minister just touched him and said God be with you, I didn't know what to do, but it worked.The Dementia wing was the hardest place to work,you never knew what to expect. But I loved that job.My own Mum had Dementia, it was very hard on the family, my Mum always remembered me and my Daughter, probably because we would go a few times a week and take her out for tea and to play the pokies.Cheers Paula

I really feel how you loved your Mum the way you write about her. Did her having dementia affect your outlook at other patients you may have handled with the same illness?
