Scientists have found a soil-dwelling microbe that could help fight climate change by turning carbon dioxide (CO₂) into stone!

The microbe, Bacillus megaterium, converts CO₂ into calcium carbonate, the same mineral found in marble and limestone.

It could one day be used to remove carbon from the atmosphere and even build more sustainable homes.

The discovery opens the door to innovative solutions that are both natural and scalable. Sometimes, the smallest things can make the biggest difference.

Three specially trained dogs — Molly, Lani, and Sunny — have joined the Federal and Family Court in NSW to help support vulnerable people, including children.

Part of the ‘Court Dogs’ program, these four-legged heroes are trained to help victims of crime feel safe, calm, and supported during tough proceedings.

The program is already in place in Melbourne and Hobart, where 100% of surveyed participants said the dogs made a positive difference.

Guide Dogs Australia trained the dogs and they are now stationed in Parramatta, Newcastle, and Sydney’s CBD.

With support from the Law Society of NSW, these comfort canines are helping people confidently speak their truth.

Thank you, these articles are all very heart warming to read. Its so nice to sit with a cuppa, in my own time, and read some good news stories.
I try to avoid listening to a lot of news as its always violent (understandably a lot of unrest going on) the commentators talk in very expressive language to get the message of disaster through to you plus the background music highlights this.
Its just nice to read about something good as it helps keeps the balance. Thank you.
