Grown in Queensland by GreenSkin Avocados, this unique breed of avocado aims to bring ‘predictability’ to your avocado experience, unlike the more common Hass and Shepard varieties we've grown accustomed to over the years.

But wait, there's more! The GMax also has a smaller seed than we're used to, meaning there's a more delectable avocado for us to enjoy.
This amazing new variety first launched in 2021 at independent retailers but has recently found its way to Woolworths shelves across the nation, priced at a reasonable $2.30.
Woolworths has even started promoting the GMax in stores, with signs in the fresh produce section proclaiming it to be ‘smashing value on Hass avocados’.
‘The new GMax, more avo, less seed. Full of flavour, predictably perfect,’ the sign read.
These avocados are available from May to July to bridge the gap between the Shepard and Hass seasons.
A Woolworths spokesperson explained: ‘They have a delicious green skin and a smaller seed, which means more avo to smash through.’
GreenSkin Avocados also states that the GMax ‘won't go brown when cut’ – an unsightly problem many have faced with other avocado varieties in the past.
Treena Welch, the brand's Marketing Director, previously spoke to reporters to promote the brand in 2021.
She said: ‘We wanted to launch this brand by highlighting how it solves the biggest dilemma for avocado buyers – the unpredictability of that moment when you cut your avocado open. With GreenSkin GMax, you always know that moment of truth will be a predictably perfect experience.’
The brand’s website also described the GMax as the ‘holy grail of avocados’ – a statement that’s widely agreed upon by shoppers who already love the new fruit variety.
‘Yum, these are so good,’ one avo enthusiast commented.
While one declared, ‘Move over, Hass! Greenskins are in town!’
‘If you haven't tried one, you're really missing out,’ added another satisfied shopper.
