Get free stuff from BIG W! Here's how to join their secret product testing group
- Replies 9
We here at the SDC love finding out about all of the different ways our members can score free stuff – especially when that stuff happens to be from one of our favourite retailers, BIG W.
We already know that we can trust the discount department store chain to offer us a range of budget-friendly products, from electronics and homewares to clothing and toys.
But did you guys know that BIG W also has a 'secret shopper' program where select customers are chosen to test out new products in exchange for giving feedback about their experience? We certainly didn't!
It's called the Trusted Quality program, and it was launched by the retailer recently as a way for families to test out new products before they hit shelves – everything from women's leggings and baby items to kitchenware and cleaning supplies.
Just like the Woolworths Bunch initiative, members of this online research group (named Gather) have the opportunity to try out a wide range of products before they hit store shelves.
Even though many other customers (like us!) were unaware of its existence, there are certain lucky people out there who have been invited to participate in BIG W's tester program, and they went on social media to share their experiences.
In a popular Facebook group for BIG W shoppers, one person shared that they received a parcel in the mail: a scrapbook and a box full of school accessories. 'Amazing start to the week!' they wrote.
At the same time, other users said that Gather had contacted them via email, inviting them to join the group and offering them to try out some family products for themselves.
So far, shoppers have given the thumbs up to cheese knives, bath towels and microfibre cloths, among other things.
If this sounds like something you'd be interested in doing (and let's face it – who doesn’t want free stuff?), then read on for more information about how you can sign up to become a reviewer for BIG W!
Joining the Trusted Quality program is totally free – all you need is an Everyday Rewards card from Woolworths (if you don't have one yet, you can sign up either in-store or online through this link).
Once you have your card handy (or if you already are a member), the next step is to fill out a short questionnaire through this link, which should only take 5-10 minutes.
It's about yourself as well as your household shopping habits and what kind of surveys/tester groups you'd be interested in participating in. Don't worry, there are no right or wrong answers!
Once that's been submitted, your application will be reviewed by Gather personnel; if everything looks good, then congratulations—you're on your way towards becoming a fully-fledged product reviewer!
All successful applicants will receive notifications whenever there's a new campaign or tester group available that matches their interests/preferences; simply follow the instructions provided within each notification email if you wish to participate.
