Neither was I especially when we were young married’s with not much money at all. Next we had our children so when we had a little bit of money it was spent on them……Eventually things got much better for us and I could indulge now and again in things that I liked instead of things to make do. Since we were both 18 when we married and with 2 children at 21, I don’t suppose either of us had developed much of an identity, we just grew up together with each of us, at times, having a bit of a personality clash……52 years later though, and we’re still together…….he likes to see women in fitted clothes, smart clothes, but he has a wife who prefers looser styles, weird stuff he says as do my kids and wider family, I don’t appear to conform to the norm…….Anyway I am who I am and accepted as I am by those I care about and everyone else can think what they like…..
Love the last couple of lines self explanatory of the values you enhance “ To hell with em “ I say go for it

My favourite outfit was one my ex boyfriend brought me back in 77' when I was 18. It was a very tight satin Kimono type dress, it was truly stunning. I wore it to a wedding once and paired it with stars and stripes knickers which you could see through the dress. More eyes were on me than the bride 😂

I've been with hubby since I was 14 him 16. By 21 I had two kids ,we did however go on to have 13.

I too have dressed how I want and may ask his advise when we are going to a wedding ect but doesn't mean I take it.

The only thing he hates and will tell me and that's if my boobs are showing. He comments, for his eyes only 😳

Good for you. I'm the same, I like a wide range of different clothes. I tend to dress for the occasion.
Went to an engagement party once and there were people there dressed in dirty jeans and shirts. To each his own I guess.
I can remember the days when if you went somewhere like a wedding you wore a hat and gloves.
My mother always told me my bag should match my shoes and to this day I still do that. Lol.

I think I had a similar type of dress. They're called a cheong sam. Mine wasn't transparent though.
But I do remember wearing a blue crocheted dress with matching underwear. Oh dear, did I really do that?

Is that what you call a “ show stopper “ or a “scene stealer “ either way your a winner 🌹

Only a few weeks married and already laying down the law. My ex would never have got away with that
I remember when I remarried and we were going out to tea for my mother in laws 70th birthday.
We lived in Kalgoorlie at the time and my husband made some comment to the effect that I might have been a bit overdressed. I was wearing a plain white handkerchief style dress I bought in Bali, hardly high end fashion.
With a filthy look I told him I didn't care if the whole of Kal went out dressed like bogans, I'm me and I don't. I received quite a few compliments that night and my husband , never once in 32 years, ever criticised how I dressed again.

I've typed bogans three times , and this stupid spell check keeps changing it to Hogan's , and there it goes again. Grrrr.
We went to visit my mother in law in the early days and she worked in the fashion department of an upmarket department store and so did one of my husband’s older sisters……She was always a bit posh and so were the older children, the younger ones were fine….anyway, this particular time I was taken to this department store where my sister in law picked me out a couple of outfits to wear which she could get discounted being staff…. I hated that someone actually chose what clothes I should wear, and that I actually let her 😂…not funny at the time but hilarious to look back on …..The child I was then has nothing in common with the adult I grew into….

Monday we had 42 deg then the rest of the week has been around 27.

I don't mind a day here and there of over 40 but it's when it becomes more than 2 to 3 days of constant heat

We have been having severe storms with thunder louder than I've ever heard
We seem to have been having constant high temps for weeks now. Get a day or two of mid to high 30s and back to the 40s
My friends in the town I just moved from told me they had a week between 42 and 46. OMG.
The people who bought my home don't move in until next week and my neighbours tell me all my beautiful garden is dead. Six weeks of those temps and no water will do that.

Isn’t it funny how we develop a habit solely based on what our mothers told us to do…. And it stays with us for life….

Of topic !

I was home alone this afternoon and enjoying the quietness.

I was making a coffee when all of a sudden I heard a voice which sounded like it was coming from a speaker, like the old school speakers.
Next thing I heard ' can anyone hear me' I wasn't sure where it came from but thought it sounded like it came from upstairs. I checked and nothing.

I then heard it again and thought , omg it's the ghost.

Two hours later my daughter picked me up to go see Leo. ( I held him today for the first time)
While in the car I then told my two daughters what happened. My youngest daughter couldn't stop laughing. She asked ,do you really think it was a ghost 👻 I replied yes.

She then said it was actually her, she tried calling me but my phone was on silent so she called her Alexa which us in her bedroom. She was calling out ' can anyone hear me'
So now my whole family knows I was scared by Alexa

How is little Leo doing now? How great you got to hold him at long last.
We have a google and we were talking once and it butted into the conversation but hasn't done it since

Got a friend in Panola and copping for the 2 nd time last bad Grampians fire she lost all the outer buildings but the house survived so far this year she’s left it unchecked, demoralised to submission and doesn’t want to look back..To have you think like that tells what hell theyve been through and to have to suffer it until “ God knows when
