The Man Who Never Was.

Not to be confused with the 1956 film, but an account of someone who had so much potential but realised very little. Namely me.

A life without love. Not from my parents I had loads from them but I never found the love of my life with either of my husbands in fact I found 2 controlling men who thought it OK to over rule every thing that I loved for their pleasure & were cruel into the bargain. My own fault I took sexual attraction to mean love & we all know that is no basis for lasting love. Still I survived it all & came out the other side thanks to my family & friends.

I found two women who acted the same as your men. Would have been fun putting them together.

Why aren't more like your brothers. No you cannot do those subjects, they are reserved for boy students only, "wait a minute, I cannot do a boy subject, but, my brothers both did Home science." You will never amount to anything. You have ruined the family. People talk about what you. You, you, you, it's all your fault. Hope you feel happy about taking a man's job. "You know what, YES I DID, because I earned it."
The sun didn't shine out of my butt, was an abuse survivor who didn't finish school who fell pregnant young and bought condemnation on my family "we have lost friends because of you".
So, as my children got older I decided I was going to what I was always going to do, I studied Engineering, had a wonderful career, and Did it My Way

Please understand not all men are BASTARDS. I can understand your pain it's the same as my mother had to put up with.
Mum was all about family and the kids, He was all about HIMSELF.
He ruled with an iron fist, until one night when I was just 16, we were washing and drying the dishes when HE threatened me with a bashing.
I will never forget what He said, nor will Mum.
He threatened Me, and I said make sure I don't get up, because if I do I will kill you.
The next day Mum and I moved into a unit on Findon Road and we lived a relaxed life

mine would be entitled "Nil Desperandum!" Mother abandoned me a birth. Father admitted to Mental home. School leaving age was 14.. Got a job , married at 19 to a man as old as my father. He was murdered 12 days later. Married again at 23; 2 lovely children - he abandoned us after 18 years; third one was OK but eventually became controlling and coercive. I give up!
