General Discussion Thread 15.11.2024

Good morning, wonderful members! It's Seia here, always looking for ways to brighten your days. :D

I’ve got a question for you. What’s one activity you haven’t tried yet, but would love to? Something on your list of things you can’t wait to experience?

Personally, I’ve been wanting to try skydiving! It's been on my mind for ages, but I haven’t taken the plunge just yet.

I want to go on safari in Africa. It's top of my bucket list but living on a seniors pension is a bit limiting!!!
Same here to both sentences, however I'm weighing the Imagine Holidays Sth Africa Safari & Cruise (Nov 2025) against the $ set aside for my funeral. My internal argument is: I'm fit, healthy and mobile now, and surely(?) there's time to rebuild the funds. On the other hand, I need to find a travelling partner or the cost might be too high. Maybe I'll go to number 2, skydiving, with my teeth zipped up in my pocket!

Scuba diving. I have been lucky enough to do many things over the years, except scuba diving. I had a friend who was a scuba diver, who was always going to take me, but we lived so far apart and I owned a business in Northern NSW that kept me busy and she was in Sydney. I’m now 72 and they live overseas now. Have swam with a dolphin though. 🐬🐠🐙🦈

I would like to have a makeover at a luxury spa and come out looking marvellous. This would include makeup, hairdo, nails and pampering + new outfit and photos. My husband wouldn't recognise me!
I have done that minus the spa bit and it was just great being a model for a day. It cost me a small fortune and was worth every cent. Just doing it for yourself is good enough reason.
Do It.

I had done tandem skydiving, in fact I was pushed out at 6,000ft trying to get back in when I looked down which I was told not to do at that time.
Anyway, a fantastic experience. Ticked off my list
I rode my motorcycle dressed as the Pink Panther in front of the Police on the Pacific Hwy Chatswood and they just shrugged their shoulders and drove away. Ticked off my list.
I rode my motorcycle dressed as the Pink Panther through a Hardware shop I worked at. In the back door and out the front door. Ticked off my list.
I Even rode my motorcycle in the rain
And you told me not to drive
But I made it home alive
So you said that only proves that I'm insane
You may be right
I may be crazy
Oh, but it just may be a lunatic you're looking for.

I would love to swim with the dolphins, I best learn how to swim properly first though 😂

I ticked off going on a plane and hated it, I also ticked off going on the big ferry from Tasmania to Melbourne and hated it, and I ticked off going on the back of a motorcycle and hated that too, I burnt my leg on the exhaust, i'm to scared to do anything else in case I hate that too 😂
