Hello there, beautiful people! Last week for International Cat Day, we asked you to send in photos of your furry companions—and wow, did you deliver! The comments section was overflowing with whiskers and paws. It’s safe to say we could’ve spent the entire week just scrolling through those sweet (and sometimes mischievous) faces. Thank you for sharing your little bundles of joy with us.

Naturally, all that feline talk in the SDC got us swapping stories about famous cats of the internet. Between Maru the box-loving cat, Grumpy Cat, and Lil Bub, one name kept popping up in our chat: Mervyn Cumberland Weems—or Merv, if you’re on friendly terms. Merv is no ordinary cat. She’s a talking Siamese whose 'conversations' are equal parts charming and sassy, and she’s been stealing hearts online for years.

I’ll admit, some of us hadn’t met Merv until this week—but once you’ve heard her, you won’t forget her. There’s something endlessly endearing about that unique little voice paired with those big, knowing eyes. If you haven’t heard Merv hold court yet, do yourself a favour and watch this clip:
