G’day, friends! We’ve made it to the end of the week, and we’re glad you’re spending the morning with us! 🤗 Time to grab that cuppa, settle in, and enjoy your stories, smiles, and surprises before the weekend begins. I’ll be honest—I’ve been feeling a bit knackered this week and could use a little break.

Can you recommend any places to go for a weekend adventure? Beach, big city, or even a café—I’m all ears! Share them here!

We love going to Bowral for the day. There are so many places to visit and many cafes and places to eat and socialise. We often meet up with my sister who lives on the South Coast and we from Sydney - it is like a halfway point. We have discovered the Harrys on Green Lane which has become our favourite eating place.

Go for a walk or hike in a National Park or any park with a friend or by yourself.. Look at all the beautiful plants and animal life and maybe have a picnic after. Slow down and breath.

If you live in Sydney, there is no better place for a weekend away from the chaos of the big city, than the Blue Mountains. Katoomba, with lovely old places to stay like the Carrington, The Palais Royale, or the Metropole, a beautiful old Art Deco place, right across the road from the railway station. Delightful! You can easily drive out to Jenolan Caves, or down into the Megalong Valley to the famous Tea Rooms. If you want to go upmarket, High Tea at the Hydro Majestic at Medlow Bath - or there are plenty of other less expensive options for High Tea (Bygone Beauties at Leura) Most Blue Mountains towns have good restaurants, from small cafes to nice restaurants. What they mostly have in common is stunning views! I moved to Katoomba from Sydney 17 years ago, and the view I get as I drive to the supermarket, 5 minutes away, still takes my breath away every time I see it.
