General Discussion Thread 06.11.2024

Welcome to the General Discussion Thread, where you can share about anything under the sun! Now, for today's burning question:

Would you rather it be hot all the time or cold all the time?

I guess this is a tricky one, but if I'd have to choose I'd pick hot all the time. I think I'll just spend every resource I have on air conditioning and going on pool runs (which doesn't sound so bad if you think about it). 😂 What about you? We're excited to see what you think.

I have lived in several states having been posted by the Army. I think I like both really. I have lived in FNQ, Canberra & the Mornington Peninsula. It’s easier to get out of bed in the tropics but harder to get cool & comfortable (AC is a must). The southern winter has its joys though, as long as you have a great source of heat to warm the home & lots of warm clothing.

I always thought it's easier to get warm when it's cold. Until I lived in South Australia and Tasmania. There I was chilled to the bone and it was so hard to warm up. I don't particular like the humidity but living in Queensland it's part and parcel of Summer

I prefer cooler weather because you can always put more clothes on, but when you get to a certain age and shape, there's a definite limit to what you can take off.

Give me Nth Qld winter, it's lovely, not many days where you need a jumper

Cold... you can always get warm by laying clothes. But to get cool, it will always cost you. Plus the humidity is horrendous!
