General Discussion Thread 01.08.2025

This year’s moving fast… can you believe that we only have five months left before 2026? One thing I’m especially proud of this week is that I’ve actually stuck with a promise I made to myself back in January—to read more.

I’ve actually had time to meet my reading goal of 26 books already! 🤯 That might not sound huge to some, but it’s mind-blowing for me, especially since I failed my reading challenges the past two years. Safe to say, I’m pretty proud I stuck with it this time. I have to thank my Kindle too, since it helped me read literally any time and anywhere.

So far, my favourite read of the year has been The Dallergut Dream Department Store by Lee Mi-ye. It’s a whimsical little gem about a department store that sells dreams—would you believe it? Something about Asian literature lately has just felt so comforting.

It got me thinking—sometimes the wins that feel the best are the ones we didn’t expect. 💛

Have you had a little victory this year that caught you by surprise? A goal you didn’t think you’d reach, something you tried for the first time, or even a habit that finally stuck? Any New Year's promises that you've fulfilled? I’d love to hear about it in the comments below!
