Holidays are a time to relax and have fun with friends or family or to get away from everything and spend some time by yourself. All of us could use a break from the hustle and bustle of everyday life every once in a while.
Nowadays, a good trip means making new memories that you can think back on with fondness in the future. That means taking a lot of pictures! After all, what would a trip be without at least a few images of all the fun you had, right?
Taking pictures with loved ones allows you to save the moment forever, making it a treasured keepsake for years to come.
But we have to admit that not every photo opportunity goes exactly as planned…
With the help of the internet, countless hilarious or just plain awkward holiday snaps have gone viral over the years. Here, we're compiling some of them to share with you, members!

Every now and then, the family 'jump shot' turns out beautifully, but more often than not, it looks like a complete disaster. Maybe the most important thing to keep in mind when doing it is to never let go of each other, especially the little ones…
Or you will end up with something that looks like this shot. We can't help but laugh at the situation, but we also feel bad for the little girl whose face presumably crashed onto the sand.
Thankfully, the little child was believed to be fine and was even smiling and giggling after the photo was taken. That's the spirit!

Another family shot, another little girl in trouble… and another reminder to remember to keep your arms around each other when taking family photos!
It's hilarious to look at, but we're quite sure that this poor girl didn't find it quite so funny at the time.
Someday in the future, she will look back at this photo and giggle at how funny it is, but she will also probably be quite bitter at her mum for dropping her on the sand for the sake of a good shot.

These women just wanted to take a nice picture, but someone, or something, suddenly came over to see what was going on and joined them in the picture!
If only we could tell these tourists, 'It's okay, he's just a large, harmless guy. He is simply dropping by to say hello and to extend his greetings to you all!'
But despite that, this shot is absolutely hilarious, and we can only imagine the laughter it brought the ladies and their friends.

We've all experienced the exhilaration of being on a wave-lashed beach and then getting playfully whacked in the face by a wave.
At one point, we even made an effort to stand up straight and avoid getting knocked over by a wave. This family tried to do the same thing while taking a picture, but they messed up badly.
This family was trying to snap a cute, innocent shot until they were wiped down by a massive wave. It's okay; we feel your pain!

The Leaning Tower of Pisa is a staple photo op for visitors, and although some may fail miserably, others succeed in making everyone laugh.
It actually makes a really amazing photo if you manage to nail the angles just right, so feel free to get as creative as you like if you ever visit!
And remember to try to find a spot where you can't see other tourists because they'll just look like awkward statues in the back…

We can definitely speak for everyone when we say that at some point as kids, our parents made us wear something we didn't like simply for a picture!
Although mums are notorious for forcing their children to dress goofy, this is just them trying to make them extra cute for photos. Clearly, in the picture above though, the thought of having to wear such large hats is not appealing to these kids. It's very funny, especially considering how uncomfortable they look in the shot.

Honestly, though, did these parents really think a rubbish site would be a great place to take their kids on a holiday trip? Hopefully, this was simply a 'bring your kids to work' day.
Aside from that, the only good thing we can say about the parents is that they put safety first and made their kids wear helmets. The look on the boy's face is just priceless, and the girl appears as though she couldn't care less about anything at this point.
These made us laugh out loud, and we hope they did the same for you, folks!
